Circa. 1816, the Road to New Esbec

“Long ago a being known as Tobias Sarkozy was born into this world, as you all know that person is the same one writing this letter to you all. For the past 60 years of my life I have tried my best to be a carbon copy of the father before me. I have joined the clergy, I have done politics, I have served in the House of Commons but alas, a man can only achieve so much. In my time within the Empire I have amounted to many things and achieved many goals. I have made friends with those of the Briarwoods, the O’Rourke, the d’Azor, and many others.

However, there is only so much that a man can accomplish. For the past 60 years I worked towards a goal that was set before me and not of my own, 60 years of my life to achieve positions, placings, and many other things but there is a moment in our lives that we must stop living for others, and for ourselves. My age grows large, my bones weaker, and my skin has begun to wrinkle. I can no longer live a life serving everyone for myself, and at this I am finally to be set free.”

After placing the letter around the houses of those who knew him, and a few public places, he would begin to walk from the door of the Sarkozy Estate throughout the city. Within each window, each reflection he saw a memory of himself. In the first, it would be his first son, Edwin coming into this world along with his twin sister Helena. Following that would be Octavia and Adrian, and then Elizabeth and Franz. The next window would be a memory of his dinner parties that he attended, his many laughs and jokes told at the table. After that would be his wedding in the forest of New Esbec, in which he had fought off three bears prior too, and finally, it would be himself. Not a memory, but a reflection of what he has become.

This walk however did not stop as the windows soon became sparse. The elder sarkozy walked down to the town square, through the tavern, and out the gate. With his father gone, there was no longer someone for him to dedicate his life to,  the shackles of wanting to do good in his father's eyes are finally unclamped from his flesh. Finally, as he stepped outside of it his eyes would close and he would take a deep breathe before muttering the word,

“Freedom.“

Spoiler

Hello! This is not a PK post or anything in that regard, but simply a post announcing my leave from Oren as my character progresses. I have played Tobias in oren for over a year now and I am finally setting him free from my ooc drive to succeed in oren. My advice is, remember that it is minecraft and sticking around working your ass off for things only pay off in game and not in real life. You will have much more fun exploring the server, making new friends in the dark alleyways of roleplay, and not settling for anything. As for the Sarkozy family, if you really want to know what is happening, I suggest doing roleplay with the Sarkozy’s and seeing for yourself. .

Helena Eleanor de Sarkozy, looked down at her fingers and started to pick them.  “Maybe i should leave this place too.. it’s brought nothing but heartache. Papa!!! Wait I’m coming along.” The Sarkozy packed a small bag and ran out of the city with a smile on her face.

Apollonia watched as her grandfather left. The girl reached for her stuffed animal and holds it close. “Maybe he is going to find my papa and bring him back to me..” Apollonia hugged her Aunt Helena goodbye     “I’ll take care of your house Aunt Helena in case you ever want to return…”

Octavia de Sarkozy quickly walked through the gates of Providence for the first time in years. She kept her eyes to the ground, keeping herself away from the lights as she walked towards her childhood home. The woman found a letter and read it as quickly as she found it. “I come back and they leave, how nice.” Octavia would look up from the letter. “There’s not much here anyways.” And with that, the woman left the city just a few moments after stepping foot into it.

Adeline de Sarkozy sat at her desk, pondering the news about her half brother's departure. She'd then let out a tired sigh and place a hand over her eyes. "Everyone seems to be leaving these days..." Another moment of silence would pass before she continued silently. "I hope they're all happy where they are."

Adeline de Sarkozy's eyes would drift to the view outside of her window, mentally sending her best wishes to that of her father and her brother.

The leviathan that sat beside him in some odd, decrepit shop hummed a tune - her voice, feeble, like an autumn leaf on wind. Flames crackled within the cauldron ahead of the pair, iluminating her face and his with a lime light, as that behemoth murmured, "As vy are now, so once were we. As we are now, so shall vy be. The future awaits us with open arms, Tobias - we only have to sieze it. Yam glad to venture this untrodden path with another."

The new Sarkozy Patriarch spreads the letters around as he was bid by his father, all whilst doing his very best not to hyperventilate.

"W-well, ah... Hrm. Now what?" Comes a low, thoughtful mutter from Laurent when the task is done, his head resting in an open palm and his eyes fixed on the surface of his desk.

Soon enough, the cry of his infant daughter from the other room seizes his attention, and he rises to pace for the sound; leaving such consideration for another day. For now,

"I'm glad he's doing what will make him happy, at least."

Borys looks at the paintings in his house that he took from Providence. In one of them he notices Tobias, whose departure he had heard about  "Everyone leaves sometime eh? Too bad the good ones leave too often." He said and, smiling slightly, went to mind his own business
