A Long Flight

It was late, very late. Oisin had stuffed his belongings in his bag as he looked over to Diona.

"Y'ready, my love?"

Diona simply gave Oisin a nod, grabbing her own bag and his hand. Soon, the two were off down the stairs of the Louisville keep. The keep that Oisin had fought in twice before, and now the one he knew could no longer help him. He had received word of the Azdrazi declaring war, and that Urguan needed Sedan to fight for it now more than ever. He knew that this meant that the men he had hired would no longer be able to back his claim to the throne, and so he and his beloved fled. Down the steps of Louisville, both figures concealed in dark cloaks to mask their appearances. Oisin thought to himself as they moved along, 'Why do I not stay? Surely Savoy would back my claim...?' and then he came to the realization.

He would never be able to hold his claim.

The Rozanians despised him for what he had done, what his soldiers had done. He had won the battles, he had slain his foes time and time again...but he didn't win the war. William did. The man whom Oisin had raised his banner against for being a tyrant had won the love of the people, not him. Oisin knew deep down that without the support of the people, he could have no throne. Sure, his reign could be backed by the likes of Sedan, Savoy, and other faithful canonist realms, but what was a King who could not hold his throne?

William, though unable to defend his throne, had love for his throne. When Oisin and his men had snuck into Roza during the Sacking of Roza, the people stood with William. In their eyes, they had good reason to. After all, Oisin's men had slaughtered hundreds. Not just soldiers, but Civilians too. What claimant to the throne was he to slaughter countless lives and then expect everything to be alright? He was none. The Princes of Savoy and Sedan had hailed him as the rightful King, but Oisin knew he was not. Not without the people he had so badly isolated himself from. There would be insurrections for years and even after, his reign would have been unstable, filled with violence and hatred.

And thus Oisin and his beloved fled, out the gates of Louisville, down the roads of Urguan, and onto a ship at Eastfleet. Their destination? Unknown. Perhaps Aeldin, perhaps an unknown land, it didn't matter to Oisin.

Oisin "The Bloody" fled the wrath of his people, whom he had so badly wounded.

OOC: Hey y'all, Pixl and I have both decided to shelve our personas so we can take a step back and take a breather. This entire conflict was, to say the least, a very big mess. I'll spare everyone the massive apology, but I just want to say this is not how I intended for this conflict to go at all. I take responsibility for what happened, and I am so unbelievably sorry. I know Rozania as a community will pull forward, and I have no doubts Plague, Pirate, and the rest can rebuild after this. It's been fun y'all, farewell for now.

Father Paul would spit as he'd receive the news "What an absolutely pathetic bloodline, has any sense of nobility or heroism fled the aristocratic bloodlines of this age?" in rage he would stride out of the monastery in his night gown, banging his crozier along the walls as he would go rousing the acolytes and chantry alike "Find him and bring  him to me, I want him alive"

Bella would smile a tired smile at the news, doing her best to be happy despite a gnawing worry that maybe she'll never be able to find proper peace anywhere.

After a whispered prayer for the Diona they had seen hanging from the gallows, Siomun goes to enjoy cactus by the campfire for the first time since before the war began. "Should have another fes'ival! Ter celebra'e!"
