The Simonists

In the year of our Lord, 1860

The disastrous consequences of the abolishment of political factions has only led to stagnancy and diminishment of the Orenian governmental body. Subsequently the termination of any political thoughts or philosophies; the executive government being left unquestioned for their actions and the failure of the elected to represent their voters, as they lack power when disunited.

Therefore, by the granted assent from the Crown to us, we proclaim the foundation of the Simonist Party on the 10th of Sigismund’s End, 1860.

We truly consider that we can be the voice of the Orenians and properly represent them. Our belief is that each issue of governance requires deep consideration, as the solution can be of rightist, centrist or leftist origins - similarly to the thinking of the great statesman Simon Basrid, our namesake. We deem that the upholding of traditions is of integrality. Yet progression is part of the human ambition, so we must not be sightless, but advance as society does.

SIGNED,

Chairwoman, Princess Carolina Luisa Ashford de Savoie

Vice-Chairman, Senator Dante Falcone

Senator Joseph de Sarkozy

Senator Chloe de Rosius

The Matriarch of House Basrid perked a brow as a a political party was named in honor of Simon Basrid. She glanced towards an elderly Valentino Gradic after being told of the contents of the missive. "Well..this is a strange development... let's see how long it takes for democracy to be snuffed again- or maybe even a heavily democratic empire to form? Either way, I am glad the young Carolina is getting involved with something." She commented, before going back to making tea.

"Well that is a Party that I can support!" said Sir Charles Galbraith, before remembering that it was his hour of the day to take his usual medicine and sleep. In fact, as usual, the old man then suddenly fell asleep:

"However, my body is clearly not willing to allow me to partake in such a genuine and noble political project. I wish the best to this new generation of Orenians, the Simonists, that seek to continue the legacy of the best Imperial Archchancellor in modern imperial history.

My father, Edward, who had the honor to serve in the Basrid Ministry as the Crown's Secretary of the Interior told me of the Golden Era that Sir Simon Basrid protagonized and how he and Peter III completely revolutionized the institutions of government of the Imperial State.

The Imperial Judiciary, an elected Imperial Diet, the Council of State... all those institutions were ideated by our Titans of State, and it should be our duty to ensure their stability and success.

After a hundred years of human failures and division amongst men the Emperor's peace was finally kept and the Orenians finally achieved something that we never imagined before: the Rule of Law.

Gentlemen, make no mistake, we must remember the lessons of the Titans of State in order to achieve the imperial excellence of the Fabric of State and continue the Tapestry of Man.

After all, that is what we all owe to the future generations: to give them a better future than the one that we currently have..."

Afterwards, a nurse entered the old Solicitor-General's room and the old man suddenly woke up:

- "Where, am I...?" he asked to the Rivian nurse, after blinking twice.

+ "Charles, have you been day-dreaming and talking in dreams again? Simon Basrid is dead. Helena and its Livery Companies does no longer exist. The Imperial Judiciary is dead. The House of Commons and the House of Lords do no longer exist. The Ministry of Justice has just been disbanded. The Office of the Lord Mayor of Providence has just been replaced by an Imperial Prefecture. We are almost in the year 1860. Wake up!"

- "Let me sleep, Marie, I am too tired..."

The crown commends your desire to push forward ideals and progress within the Imperial Government, Unfortunately as chairperson you have failed to make contact with Their Imperial Majesties to gain assent for this political party despite the disseminated statement declaring your party, claiming you did receive crown assent.

Thus as per 301.02 of the Orenian Revised Code, Their Imperial Majesties hereby revoke the entity status of the Simonist Party. Should you wish to form a political party in earnest you are hereby directed to contact their Imperial Majesties to discuss and present a platform.

His Imperial Excellency, the Archchancellor, Joseph Ledicort d’Azor, Duke of Azor

To the Imperial Archchancellor, @Taketheshot

I'm not aware of the correspondence between his Imperial Majesties and yourself, but I have been granted such Assent to found political party. Yet, the Emperor wished for me to firstly detail our policies and plans to him, before we publicly announce such formation - which I did not understand. We had rather short meeting, in which we lacked time and couldn't properly understand each other, so that's where the confusion stems from. Please for future similar problems, enlighten yourself as there was no mistake neither on my side nor the Emperor's side, but miscommunication in the hurry we met.

Princess Carolina Luisa Ashford de Savoie
