The question of where House d’Azor lies in this conflict, has been a question spread upon many tongues. Fervent whispers and rumors spoken. I am a man who has fought all his life, I lifted my blade at the age of thirteen to defend my Empire, I worked to Improve it. When Olivier de Savoie and Philip III came to me with a plan to take back the Empire from those who sought to weaken it from within, I aided them eagerly. I was the first to pledge my blade in the throneroom of San Luciano, the first house to pledge my loyalty.

As I look upon the realm of humanity now, I see it fractured, ailing and bleeding, brother upon brother. Husband upon wife, I see families torn apart. Even my own. I don't claim to know the answers, or what will occur. But I know I cannot lift my blade again, not this time. I cannot seek to kill those I have known so well, those who served in my government, and those whom I fought side by side with upon the field of battle to defend our homes.

I pray that this war concludes, I pray that peace is attained. I pray that GOD guards all of us of what's to come. I do hereby claim neutrality in the conflict to come. And declare the Duchy of Azor, neutral ground. No hostilities shall be brought upon it, and those who approach with a flag of truce, shall be welcome.

Philippa d'Azor would sign the missive overlooking the Duchy with a heavy heart. "The amount of lost..." She muttered looking at the wounds which traced over her husband, alongside the hurt seen on her daughter's eyes.

From within Fort Imperium Lucia of Azor was faced with a letter bearing shattering news. In that moment, and for days afterward, all the Empress truly wished to do was return to her home, and be with her ailing family. She wished to embrace her parents, for the current times did not guarantee safety for either of them.

Alas, she could not. Her life had been threatened already, and the Empress knew that no land would be safe for her - neutral or not.

So, she was left with only the company of the stone walls of what was once called Linnord. She was deprived of warmth, family, and home.

Alfred the butler consoles the Empress by bringing her tea and muffins. "Life is hard, majesty."
