Addressed to one Sebastian Andrewson, Baron of Cherskavy,

The barren rock known once as Barrow's Crossing has been derelict bordering mine County for a decade; bandits left to overrun it, and from there to accost the already meagre population of the Mardonic territories, including and especially mine own. You ought to thank me for my generosity in clearing the brigands from the poorly territory your father so abandoned.

Let us make a deal; reassure me and mine that you shall, for the next twenty-five [25] years;

I. Defend said Rock and the Loch and Riverway it protects as your Noble duty demands.

II. You and yours shall swear not to accost, make demands of, nor harry otherwise the populations of Temesch, Mardon, or Minitz unless first terribly aggrieved, and shall agree to bring any such grievances before the Count of Temesch for remediation prior to any such actions.

III.  Ensure no further Bandit Companies or otherwise unsanctioned Groups shall form within the boundaries of the Rock, nor utilize it as their fort.

Should you be willing to agree to these simple and nominally unnecessary terms (especially considering this your own territory de jure, and under my protection only de facto 'til such conditions could be fulfilled), the Rock will be evacuated of my men within the fortnight and the lands returned to the rightful rule of the Baron Cherskavy, assumedly you, immediately thereafter.

ANVE ORENNES,

Paul Salvian

Ie Conse de Temesch et Esheve Moere

Sveneld reads the terms thoroughly and writes back to Lord Temesch to accept the proposal.
