INHERITANCE OF THE BARONY OF ARTOIS

PUBLISHED IN THE YEAR OF OUR LORD, 1925

Times are uncertain; our species is on the brink of extinction once more as history has told the tale many times before. The House of Halcourt stands with our great Commonwealth against the Mori’quessir invasion. However, with this, a degree of certainty must be met. The House of Halcourt, by order of the Marquis of Clermont and Baron of Artois, does hereby decree;

Yves Olivier Halcourt d’Artois @Cloutfather_ is announced as the legal heir to the House of Halcourt, the Barony of Artois, and any further inheritable titles obtained by the House as commanded by Laurens Halcourt d’Artois, progenitor of Olivier.

In the event of sudden death or abdication, this clause will trigger and the succession shall be immediate.

There shall be allowed no challenges made to this other than by the hand and will of the Baron of Artois.

It is recognized that history demands agnatic cognatic elective inheritance upon the death of the Leader of the House of Halcourt, though due to global catastrophe, has been deemed ineffective for this particular transfer of power.

At the time of publishing, this document shall be made effective immediately. It is considered legally sound by the Archduchess, her Round Table, and her Advisors.

IN PRINCEPS OMNIBVS

Signed,

His Excellency, Sir Laurens ‘the Unwavering’ Halcourt d’Artois, Chanzlé of the Commonwealth of the Petra, Marquis of Clermont, Baron of Artois, Knight-Commander of the Order of Saint Emma, Knight of the Sovereign Order of the Petrine Laurel, Hero of the Petra

Lucien, Count of Gelre would watch the signing of the missive in awe. "Sir Laurens, 'the Unwavering?'" He'd recite as he traced his fingers on the print. "That dog stole my moniker. I guess he couldn't find a fitting one for himself." barked Lucien,  throwing the missive on the dirt.
