The invisible Countess

Sierra d’Arbre stood in front of Emir’s shop in Aaun, the waves behind her gently rocking the boats anchored at the dock. The building was so unfamiliar, something she had seen more than enough to get used to, however she simply couldn’t. The woman turned around and walked over to the edge of the dock, looking down at the water, “How peaceful it must be, to just rock back and forth all day.” She whispered out to herself in what were the last few moments she would have here. Swiftly she turned around and walked into the shop, locking the door behind her and making sure no one was inside.

Time seemed to have stopped for the Hyspian woman, one who did not know many people, nor tried to make friends along the line. Perhaps this was her downfall, her unwillingness to meet new people. If it were not for her husband she would still be nothing to no one, a countess consort no one even knew existed. Estranged from her family, she knew that this sadness too shall pass. Leaving the letters on the table beside her she got on the chair carefully, fixing her dress to make sure there were no kinks and it was presentable. "Sierra, I didn't know you were suffering. You could've spoken to me, we were working on things. We were going to be close you and I so... why?"

Somewhere, a de Santos frowns at the news.

"Ma famille, Sierra. I'm so sorry to hear that you're gone. Your husband cared so deeply for you and I wish I'd had the time to get to know you more." Agnes sighed heavily, looking upon her grown children, her husband, and the family around her.

A teenager forgotten by most cried and sniffled in her room. Her mother was gone with the waves, and she was left alone. Tears danced over her tan cheeks, locks of overgrown white hair hiding her visage. She'd never forget her strong mommy, who had always stood up for her.

Danielle wasn't old enough to fully understand that her Mother was gone forever.

All she knew was that it hurt a lot to miss her for that long.
