Edict of Senna

Clarification on the Nobility Structure of Balian

 

 

2nd, of Lothar’s End of 91 B.A

Since the Duties and Expectations of Nobles written in 28 B.A, there has been no further clarification on the matter of what is expected and offered of nobility. As such through this documentation, The Crown of Balian seeks to establish this better by denoting what it takes to achieve and maintain various ranks of nobility and then further what each ranking of nobility is offered due to their status. 

 

This document is one of guidance for both the Crown, Peers and those who aspire to become nobility, however while this shall be followed closely by the Crown, it is at the Crown’s discretion as to when they honour their subjects with titles.  

 

Definitions:

Crown Agent = A member of the Balian Populace who works in any branch of government such as the Armada, Foreign affairs office, Procurator’s office or the Magistrate.

Donation = A substantial amount of materials, armaments or other objects that the Crown views as a fitting donation.

 

Baronia

Achieved with:

 

Fifteen years of service to the Crown of Balian collectively served by living family members through working as an agent of the Crown.

 

Maintaining four members of the family registered as Balianese citizens in the most recent Balian Census.

 

Two family members must be an active agent of the Crown.

 

Two current peers personally endorse the efforts and work of the family.

 

Evidence of an existent familial culture that befits the Balianese populace.

 

Maintained by:

 

Two familial members providing services to Balian an agent of the Crown

 

Actively noticed by other members of the Kingdom as being engaged within the nation’s matters.

 

Maintain Regular attendance at the court of the Kingdom.

 

Hosts an event for the entire nation once per every four years.

 

Privileges granted:

 

Gifted a land grant of seventy five metres by seventy five metres.

 

Being referred to with a noble title fitting their station and the land they have been granted.  e.g. Baronia of Brucca.

 

The ability to regularly attend the Segnoria meetings of nobles and put themself forward for Gran Don.

 

The ability to request a meeting with any member of the Duana of the reigning Monarch themself.

 

Viscondato

Achieved with:

 

Forty years of service to the Crown of Balian collectively served by living family members through working as an agent of the Crown.

 

Maintaining three generations of the family who have stayed within the realm and contributed to Balian.

 

Three currently living family members who are working as an agent of the Crown.

 

The house must have made two donations to the Kingdom of any sort.

 

Maintained by:

 

Two familial members providing services to Balian an agent of the Crown.

 

Actively noticed by other members of the Kingdom as being engaged within the nation’s matters.

 

Providing one or more members of their house to work within the Royal Balianese Armada at any rank.

 

Maintain Regular attendance at the court of the Kingdom.

 

Hosts an event for the entire nation once per every four years.

 

Privileges granted:

 

A Viscondato has the ability to endorse a potential new peerage.

 

Gifted a land grant of a hundred metres by hundred metres.

 

Being referred to with a noble title fitting their station and the land they have been granted.  e.g. Viscondato of Pompourelia.

 

If an honour duel is called against the house, they may call upon a champion to fight on their behalf should they wish to do so.

 

The ability to regularly attend the Segnoria meetings of nobles and put themself forward for Gran Don.

 

The ability to request a meeting with any member of the Duana of the reigning Monarch themself.

 

May request a small detail of Royal Balianese Armada Guards if needed for an event or trip.

 

Condato

Achieved with:

 

Eighty years of service to the Crown of Balian collectively served by living family members through working as an agent of the Crown. Twenty of said service must be considered at a higher rank.

 

Maintaining four generations of the family who have stayed within the realm and contributed to Balian.

 

Four currently living family members who are working as an agent of the Crown.

 

The house must have made three donations to the Kingdom of any sort.

 

Maintained by:

 

Three familial members providing services to Balian an agent of the Crown.

 

Actively noticed by other members of the Kingdom as being engaged within the nation’s matters.

 

Providing two or more members of their house to work within the Royal Balianese Armada at any rank.

Ducato

Achieved with:

 

A hundred and forty years of service to the Crown of Balian collectively served by living family members through working as an agent of the Crown. Forty of said service must be considered at a higher rank.

 

Maintaining six generations of the family who have stayed within the realm and contributed to Balian.

 

Five currently living family members who are working as an agent of the Crown.

 

The house must have made five donations to the Kingdom of any sort.

 

Maintained by:

 

Three familial members providing services to Balian an agent of the Crown

 

Actively noticed by other members of the Kingdom as being engaged within the nation’s matters.

 

Providing two or more members of their house to work within the Royal Balianese Armada at any rank.

 

Maintain Regular attendance at the court of the Kingdom.
