A DAY BEFORE DEATH

Vasili Vanrov rode across the country side, examining his map. "Numendil and erm... Petra?" he'd look down towards his map, still somewhat illiterate but he did try. Mostly cross eyed he'd look down, confused but still lurching his horse forward. Vasili had been given a mission and this mission must be achieved. He had rode forward, taking several wrong turns but somehow the large gray haired hog would find his destinations. Through negotiations he would secure his nation vital supplies against the darkspawn savaging his lands. His horse tired, he'd rest along the war torn country side with a smile. "A job well done" he'd snicker, peering out at sunken villages and broken keeps. Vasili would hum and sing, doing a small dance around his campfire. Those traveling along the road would find it unusual but his horse did dance with him. His horse was much more disciplined as his owner knew animals better than you. Way better.

20.5 HOURS BEFORE DEATH

"God has brought me here" the large man exclaimed as he looked up to the desert sky and back to the orc again. He had travelled far and long for his next mission.  "Say... If this was poured into into a well, would it affect those who drink itPotentially lethal? Asking for a friend." Vasili would question. The orc reassured him with a smile and nod. "You promise?" Vasili would ask sternly with a serious tone.  The orc would stare with a deep frown and a more reassuring nod. The orc had grown impatient from questioning exclaiming, "20 MINA MORTAL ONE!"  Vasili would stand back, grumbling and digging into his pockets.   Vasili was poor but god wills it that his mission would would be accomplished.  He would reply, "14.25 Mina take it or leave it!" The orc shuffled around, "You're a first time buyer, I will make the sale.  DEAL!"

1.35 HOURS BEFORE DEATH

Vasili rode along with the warband through the mountains, ill prepared for the journey and much more ill prepared for battle. Vasili's horse Stubborn snickered and wavered through the mountain and snow.  They rode for the raiders that had attacked time and time again. "SCUM!" Vasili would screech on the bitter journey, still eager to meet the foe. As the party crest the mountain the battle would begin quick as the Haense soldiers crashed down onto the enemy who lay before them. Vasili had always been at the front of the battle, of any battle his country called for him to appear. The soldiers of Haense were desperate but in the fray they had commandeered a catapult.   With this catapult they hauled slain enemy bodies and stones alike at the small fort.  As this occurred, soldiers of Haense lurched forward across a small bridge.  Arrows rained on the crossing for those who dared venture forward and Vasili sustained two arrow wounds to either shoulder. As the old man lay there he had remember the drugs he had purchased before.

"Lets do this."

Vasili would shove the drugs into his bloodied face and with bloodshot eyes and a blood filled scream he'd push his brothers aside. The bridge was narrow but he made sure to make his way forward, that was his duty as a member of Haense.  His reckless charge would be met with a shield, the shield with a large spike attached and even angrier foe wielding it. Unfortunately for Vasili he had been ill equipped and filled with mania, his state of mind was even less clearer than usual. In the disorganized mess of men and swords colliding the shield punctured his chest. A large groan came from the fray and even larger eruption of blood followed suit.  Some would say the drugs probably didn't help. Through rage and anger the large bezerked man charged again only to flung off of the bridge.  Minutes later Vasili awoke to the queen of Haense hauling him to safety, his guts strewn and blood pouring all over.  The pain that had only been in his body for minutes felt like hours. "It hurts... Please stop. Please..." he'd beg as he was dragged, legs broken and bent unusual.

.25 HOURS AFTER DEATH

Vasili body left a trail of blood and muck behind him, his hollowed face lay against the snow as his bowels gave away a small toot. The battle raged as casualties mounted, some retreating and some reinforcing the front against the gate. The queen lay over his body, sobbing as the song of battle sang on. Her sobbing was cut short when an unknown man picked up his corpse. "He would've wanted this." the man exclaimed, dragging his body into the catapult. Shortly there after, for some odd reason no one really tried to stop it, his body was launched into the walls into the keep that had been under assault.  As his body smacked the wall with a violent thud, his limbs and blood showered the men and woman he had fought alongside. It was a bad roll out of 20.

(Do not metagame this)

Vasili's spirit smiled down as he ascended into the skies above.

"I am sorry I couldn't save you," murmured the Queen as she mourned the loss.

Not even a moment of peace was spared, for as she departed the scene to rejoin the battle, his body was loaded upon that grisly catapult.

The black banners fluttered in the wind at the occupied Gate House.

"He would have made for a good soldier, had he been chosen..."

murmured the towering foe...
