How to Use
“Dear Gaijin, STAY AWAY FROM THE CLOCK! OYASHI ONLY! Here is how to use the clock. Make a copy of the sheet so you can edit. Then, in the box underneath "Enter Birth Year here. . ." ENTER YOUR BIRTH YEAR! Right side is Eastern Gaijin time, called "First Age" or "Imperial". Left side is Western Gaijin time, called "Second Age" or "Janny Time". The middle time is Kamijikan, "Kami Time." It counts down by month, not year, to a VERY IMPORTANT date.  Blessings upon your houses! -Uncle O”

 

 

Local Saki-Gaki Legend
Years ago during the founding of the Hidden Cherry Blossom Village, a flash of lightning struck the ground before the Kato Clan workshop. From it appeared a mysterious grandfather clock. Many of the citizens believed it to be another whacky invention of  Shugo Uncle-O or his buddies at the forge. But Uncle-O was just as clueless as the citizens of Sakuragakure and spent years tinkering with and studying the mysterious grandfather clock that manifested into existence. Though one thing eluded the samurai of the village and the greatest of their tinkerers - what happens when the Kamijikan hits zero?

 

The Kamijikan
The Kamijikan (or Kami Time) refers to the clock that is counted down monthly (every OOC day) down to zero where it is said that a very important event will take place. It is unknown what is to occur but it has not stopped the villagers of Sakuragakure from taking wild guesses. For many of the Yosei (Oyashi elves), the Kamijikan is a doomsday countdown that will lead to the entire annihilation of the world. The Oni and human Oyashi however possess more optimistic theories where each respectively believes that an ancestral savior (The Onimaru from the Oni and Owinsama for humans respectively) will return to the world to defeat the tyrannical Shogun Yorinobu and make Oyashima a paradise. While highly anticipated, whatever awaits the world and the Oyashi is still a long while away.

 

The Oyashiman Zodiac
Every eight years (or 56 Kami Days) the cycle of the Oyashiman Zodiac resets with each year/seven months representing a spiritual animal and one of the four main corresponding elemental signs of fire, earth, air and water aligned with the year of an individual’s birth year said to represent some of the inner facets of one’s personality or inclinations. 
 

Kouryuu (High Dragon | Dragaar) = Intelligent, Prideful, Conniving, Long lived, Scholar Archetype, Fire Sign

 

Kaerumon (Frogman | Wonk) = Lucky, Gluttonous, Silly, Family Oriented, Water Sign, Craftsman/Bard Archetype

 

Nyazoku  (Cat Man | Kharajyr) = Quick, Silver tongued, Greedy, Dexterous, Air Sign, Archer/Rogue/Diplomat archetype

 

Saruban  (Monkey Savage | Hou-Zi) = Strong, Stubborn, Slothful, Emotionally Stable, Monk-archetype Earth Sign

 

Nezumin (Rat Man | Ratiki/Musin)
= Untrustworthy, Envious, Clever, survivors, stealthy, thief/rogue archetype, Fire Sign

 

Butajin (Boar Man | Bohra)
= Trustworthy, arrogant, magically inclined, unlucky, curious, Wizard archetype, Water Sign

 

Tanuki (Raccoon Dog)
= Friendly, naïve, adventurous, flaky, scatterbrained, adventurer archetype, Air Sign

 

Oni (Oyashiman Ork) = Wrothful, warrior archetype, large, boisterous, honorable, Earth sign
