Through the request of Cardinal Rhosyn and with the help and Planning from the Nicolas von Wittenbach, the Master of Chambery, Renovations to St. Edmond's Abbey, the national cathedral of the Petra in Vallagne, were undertaken and completed as a gift to the great Peoples of Vallagne from its smaller Twin sister city of Chambery

Too long the Cathedral has stood charred in the center of Vallagne as a stark reminder of the war now long passed. It is why we the Free City of Chambery have decided to give a gift of help to our bigger Sister City of Vallagne and fund the renovation of its Cathedral. Until recently Chambery too was still carrying the reminding scars of the war. Scars that needed to be removed for all of us to move forward. Vallagne and Chambery have always been there for each other in good or bad times. During the Housing crisis Chambery welcomed the overflow of peoples from Vallagne, and during the war Vallagne protected the Chamberian citizen behinds its strong walls.

May our Cities continue to prosper and head for a great future, together we are strong sisters of the Petra.

Signed. Nicolas von Wittenbach, Master of Chambery

“I love that Nico.” Renilde rests easier knowing there was a more suitable place for worship in the city once again.
