Announcement of Samurai Kikurage and Clan Nekuzai

The Stratocracy is pleased to announce the ascension of a new member into the warrior class, Nekuzai Kikurage. He is hereby released of his retainer vows to Clan Kato and will have them transferred directly to the Stratocracy and Shugonate. Kikurage is given permission to raise his own Clan Nekuzai as an official samurai clan of Sakuragakure and may take retainers of his own right.

The Provinces of the Koyo-Kuni Shugonate

It is in the interest of the Stratocracy to reorganize and chart the lands of our nation since the dissolution of the previous regime. The following provinces are hereby established for the ease of delegation of governance by the Stratocracy.

 

Shihon Shū (the Capital Province) consists of the Flower Capital of Sakura-Gakure, the Oyashi Heartlands and Nichi-Jin Temple. (Tile_Enchanted_Forest_3 and Tile_Enchanted_Forest_4).

 

Chōjō Shū (the Abnormality Province) consists of the currently occupied zone of the Norowareta Mori across the lake from Shihon Shū under the control of Gashadokuro. (All Cursed Forest Tiles owned and unowned, de facto tile_cursed_forest_3).

 

Sabaku Shū (the Desert Province) consists of the new Rah’tuman claim on the western border of the Sakura Mori and what is west of the Flower Capital.  (Tile_Enchanted_Forest_2).

 

Kinoka Shū (the Mushroom Hill Province) consists of the Li-ren Jun Lei Village, the The Tribe of Hazûk’s Mugmar’s Circle and the former Mistralen area (Tile_Enchanted_Forest_9 and Tile_Enchanted_Forest_5).

 

QUARANTINE JENNY LAND consists of the Old-Capital of Nor-Velyth and the lands of old Rah’tuma and the Nyazoku Sanctuary. (Tile Enchanted_Forest_1).

 

Ronin Laws

Long has the Stratocracy ruled against unlicensed ronin with individual samurai discretion and by a word of mouth set of rules. It is with this proclamation the Stratocracy wishes to make clear its view on ronin.

 

A ‘licensed’ ronin shall be a retainer who has been released of their vows made to a recognized samurai clan of Sakuragakure either by the death of their clan lord or by the will of their clan lord in good graces and has made themselves known to the Stratocracy. Licensed ronin may engage in mercenary work of their own volition and although they are lordless and not bound to Bushido they will be expected to upkeep the spirit of it in their business abroad. While ronin may carry a sword on their person, they may not unsheathe it within the Flower Capital of Sakura-Gakure as they are not a part of the warrior class unless under the command of a samurai in the enforcement of the village’s peace. 

 

Standard Surname

For the legality purposes of identifying Koyo-Kuni citizens of the common class without a family name or those that did not inherit their clan name taking origin from the Shihon Shū (Capital Province), they shall be given the name ‘Hana 花’ signifying their origins. While citizens will not be obligated to introduce themselves with this surname if they do not wish it, they will be referred to with the standard surname in all legal purposes until they are either adopted into a clan and adopt a surname of their own creation.
