THERE IS A COMMON SAYING THAT HISTORY MUST BE TAUGHT SO WE MAY LEARN NOT TO REPEAT OUR MISTAKES. From the reign of Sigismund II until the end of Josef I, the Royal Curator sat on the Aulic Council as the cultural advisor, master of archives, and the Kingdom’s premier historian. After the dissolution of the position, various attempts to upkeep the growing archives were made by genius scholars, the courts, and well versed in historians. These efforts are well applauded and recognized by the Crown, however in recent times it was determined that our archives were largely outdated and far too sporadic in its upkeep.

 

Therefore, by decree of our liege Marius III, the Royal Curator shall be re-implemented into the Aulic Council and shall assume its previous duties as cultural advisor, chief educator, and master of archives. The effort to maintain our history and culture as it was under the helm of Sir Viktor Kortrevich, VKML, requires a scholar with a natural aptitude for history and an exceptional work ethic.

 

Both the Palatial Government and Crown came to a consensus that Lord Rickard Hieromar Kortrevich, our Grand Maer, fit this criteria and more. His Excellency is entrusted to update the currently outdated archives, undertake projects to enrich our culture, and maintain our proud heritage with the Lead Bulava in hand.
