Military

Celia’Diraar Promotions

Throughout time, the Celia’diraar have been revered as the pinnacle of elven martial excellence; the embodiment of strength, valiance and chivalry. Established during the earliest stages of Celia’nor by the first Mordu’lar, Atheleon Py’lrie, they stand as a bastion of honour and duty.

Hereby; on the 9th of the Amber Cold, 194SA; Lady Eir Maor steps down as Mordu’lar to lead a unique military project. Lord Celius Cerusil takes up the mantle of Mordu’lar henceforth as his predecessor Sylvin Cerusil once did in the wake of Celia’nors resurgence upon the shores of Aevos, the fourth Mordu’lar who led in a pivotal chapter in the annals of the realm amidst the echoes of Almaris. As his predecessor Sylvir Cerusil once did, through a crucible of battles amidst the tumultuous realms of Aevos, reminiscent of the trials faced by the legendary Atheleon and under the guidance of his highness Illthrak Ibarellan the then reigning prince of Celia’nor.

The Mordu’lar is the rank bestowed upon the commander of the Celia’diraar, charged with keeping the Realm of Celia’nor safe alongside all of its vassals and people who reside within the domain of the Ibarellan royal line. They have the utmost authority of military matters within Celia’nor and command all the military forces un der the banner of Celia’nor. They are to be addressed as Mordu’lar at all times and their word is absolute.

“He [Celius] will be taking over as mordu'lar and I will be stepping down. However that does not mean my work in the military is done. I am taking over an entierly different branch of the military.. Some of you have already been thought of as candidates for such a force but it will be discussed more in due time. But I do hope you all will give Celius Cerusil the same respect as you've given me . Please don't run around like children at his addresses.” - Lady Eir Maor

Hereby; on the 9th of the Amber Cold, 194SA; Laurir Yera Silveira-Cerusil is named Aneh’why of the Celia’diraar.

The Aneh’why is the Mordu’lar’s left hand and serves as a director for the magi within the Celia'diraar. Their main role is to oversee the magi and coordinate training sessions, patrols, and address matters unique to the magi corps. The Aneh’ are responsible for coordinating operations at all times of day and preparing the Parir for tasks that they may be assigned. They are responsible for being in constant contact with the Mordu’lar, instructing him of the status and reporting to him directly should matters of interest arise.

“Each and every one of you must keep each other in line. You are protectors. Defenders. Do not abuse your power, nor must you let me abuse my own. We must strive to provide our people with a nation that they can feel safe in. I expect you to hold yourself your allies and me accountable for our actions. I am certain some of you have heard of individuals selfishly offering forth others in sacrifice to demons, to save the collective. That is not something that will be tolerated. Dispatch the darkspawn, but treat our citizens with respect and kindness. We do not want to drive them away.” - Lady Yera

Mathi Lensul’em remains the Aneh’wy of the Celia’diraar. No speech was given, but she expects the very best of all the Diraar going forwards.

The Aneh’wy is the Mordu’lar’s right hand and serves as a director for the non-magi within the Celia'diraar. They are tasked with organizing training sessions, patrols, and addressing issues unique to the Diraar. The Aneh’ are responsible for coordinating operations at all times of day and preparing the Parir for tasks that they may be assigned. tThey are responsible for being in constant contact with the Mordu’lar, instructing him of the status and reporting to him directly should matters of interest arise.

Hereby; on the 9th of the Amber Cold, 194SA; Aganar Kalgan-Silveira is promoted to Parir. He had the following speech to give upon the deliverance of his promotion.

Parir is the rank given to the officers within the Celia’diraar responsible for carrying out the tasks and orders from the Aneh’. They are also expected to host training and patrols around the city and have the authority to promote the Fiyem. They may also enact justice on those within the Realm who break the laws and need to suffer the consequences of their acts.

“Well uh I guess I am praised regarding my combative abilities. But as some of ye may know I will be setting up the specialist company. The goal ef this es tae aid all teh other companies in their time ef need. Providing magical an' alchemical aid. Me second in command will be Athri on teh alchemeh side ef et while Throy es second in command regarding magic. LETS BECOME FEARED AMONG AEVOS. AY'CELIA'NOR” - Parir Aganar

Throy is promoted to Diraar

Koven is promoted to Okar’sohae

Internal Investigation

An internal investigation has been launched into a member of the Diraar, pending further information. The newly appointed Mordu’lar, hand of the royal princess in matters of military, had this to say;

[REDACTED] are under investigation within the Celia'diraar, to those listening to me today. Keep [REDACTED] on guard and make sure [REDACTED] doesn't escape. You aren't guilty, but you aren't innocent either. You may still continue your duty as a member of the Celia'diraar, but you aren't able to investigate matters related to darkspawn.” - Lord Cerusil

New Specialist Unit

Led by newly minted Parir Aganar Kalgan-Silveira, the Diraar shall be putting together a new joint company of Alchemists and Magic users. Members of the Celia’diraar Athri’annyer and Throy shall be assisting this project, with the former specialising in alchemy and the latter specialising in the arcane arts. Members shall be handpicked by the Parir.

Religion

Holy Blade Order of Vt. Thelia

“I am the Hunter in the Night. I am the Starlight alit in the Darkness.”

The Holy Blades are a paramilitary organisation under the Talyiinist parish, based in Celia’nor. Inspired by the threat of anegulic and daemonic threats alike, the church organized a force of scholars, scientists, and combatants alike to run as a security force against various supernatural threats to the security of Celia’nor, and to a degree, elvendom. While headed by the guidance of the Arch Prelate, the organisation is administered by the joint operation of the Head Abbess, and the First Hunter. These two consuls make a majority of the daily decisions, and work in tandem towards outside threats with the approval of the Arch Prelate. While they are often given a wider range of authority, the Holy Blades are held to the same laws of Celia’nor’s land, and are expected to relinquish prisoners to the Diraar if requested.

Do you want to make a difference? Are you hellbent on ending darkspawn? Are you prepared to fight tooth and nail to ensure innocents survive? Can you endure?

If you are interested in joining the Holy Blade order as one of its hunters, please contact Elora Soltee.

The Dearly Departed, the Revered Respite

Blaeron Ironmaker, recently promoted to Diraar has unfortunately died. Each member of the Diraar is encouraged to pay their respects by visiting the Talyiinist temple and bringing a branch to burn in their memory.

Holy Matrimony

The noble houses of Cerusil and Acaln’sae are united in sacred matrimony. We joyously announce the union of esteemed Evarir, Castamir Cerusil, to the noble Laurir, Vanya Acaln’sae. This alliance, sewn in grandeur, woven from the strands of love and fortified by mutual respect, heralds a burgeoning era of prosperity and harmony between these venerable lineages. As they blend the old with the new, their confluence will undoubtedly forge a legacy of enduring influence, charting a noble course for the future of our starlit realm!

Celia’nor Campaign: Cavern Conquest

Many years have passed since the evil that was ‘Gashadokuro’ collided with our nation. During the attack upon our great city many lives were lost through the conjuration of a titanic creature akin to the Krakens of old. It's devastation was unquestionable upon the surface, but it's effects were far deeper rooted than initially understood. Far.. far deeper.

In the cleanup and censuses performed to account for the citizens, it was discovered a large portion had sought refuge in the caverns below where previously presumed safe. Their bodies were only partially recovered for burial, in many cases full bodies were not able to be put to rest. Through an excursion that took place, the ecosystem below has been confirmed to be fully disturbed, with strange behaviours in creatures or populations determined. Ultimately the initial excursion team was forced to retreat.

The second expedition happened many years later in retaliation to a rumbling felt in the city centre. This emergency expedition ended in disaster. Led by the Archprelate and First Abbess the proud Elven warriors dispatched creature after creature, slicing through the monsters with ease. But on encountering an unknown sentient force believed demonic, a valiant last stand was made. The First Abbess stayed behind to hold off the force to allow a few to escape, but ultimately only the Archprelate dragged away unconscious and a handful of guard were able to make it out.

The third expedition was one of rescue. Believing the second expedition were captured as opposed to killed, this rescue effort sought to free the two councillors, Scholarium members, Diraar and Mordu’lar from the demons clutches. Ultimately proving successful at the cost of a single brave woman who gave her life for the attempt. All councillors and officers were rescued, as were the civilians caught in the second expedition.

The Scholarium has identified that not only should we be focused upon protecting and exploring our borders, but that we must focus our attention below too. For to allow creatures like the Mori, demons and aggravated Fauna or Flora to grow out of control is to invite trouble upon our doorstep. Celia’nor sees this not only as an imperative to ensuring that its borders are safe outside and within, but also as an opportunity for exploration into terrain not previously explored. To uncover ancient ruins, facilities, species and more. Information gathered on these creatures, fauna and biomes  today, could help elven kind ten or a hundred years from now.

Cataloguing

The Scholarium hereby requests that its scholars and hunters create full and complete Bestiary entries for each individual creature found within the following biomes: Underdark.

Submitted books on creatures shall be provided Mina compensation for the first, and Tilru compensation for following pieces containing no new information about the species. The amount of Minas provided shall range from 20-200 Minas depending on the quality of information. The amount of Tilru provided shall equate to that of an original provided book.

Ooc: Information should not be ripped off from the forums but gathered through genuine roleplay. This can be done by hosting player events, participating in player events or otherwise interacting with this project, etc.

Expeditions

Expeditions are rated from F class to S class depending on the nature of the threats they seek to assess. An expedition must contain at least one individual with an appropriate equivalent rank, who ultimately shall lead the mission. Expeditions are posted within the Scholariums outpost in the heart of Celia'nor.

  • Spoiler

    Event disclaimers: (OOC)

All enemies follow CRP mechanics. They have maximum movement distances, set attacks they can make and unique mechanics that can be figured out, predicted or accounted for. There are no scripted wins or losses, encounters will be brutal unless you're smart.

If your char dies in the event, they are soft PK’d, meaning they can no longer perform Scholarium events (for 1 Month).

    • Threat levels:
    • Unranked
      • “Class F - The equivalent, reserved for those of the ‘lower class’ in regards to their mastery of the arcane or overall threat level.” - Levels of Classification Tome. Quests at this rank are estimated to have threats equivalent to a wolf sized creature (combat pet) per person.
    • Aspirant
      • The lowest rank in the Scholarium, but inarguably a member to be cherished and protected. Must be accepted as a member of one of the three groups (Ak’vei, Silveira, Amethil). Despite this arguably low rank, any member at this level is considered more valuable than a random non contributing civilian. “Class E” - Levels of Classification Tome. Quests at this rank are estimated to have threats equivalent to a single untrained mundane fighter per person.
    • Initiate
      • The second rung on the ladder of progression within the Scholarium. These individuals have proven themselves dedicated. “Class D - Equivalent to those who have mastered one arcane art or are relatively non-threatening in the standards of any other magic outside the voidal variety.” - Levels of Classification Tome. Quests at this rank are estimated to have threats equivalent to a single trained mundane fighter per person.
    • Acolyte
      • The third rung on the ladder of progression within the Scholarium. These individuals have proven themselves dedicated and competent. “Class C - Equivalent to those who have mastered two arcane arts or can be considered a moderate threat outside the use of other magics besides the Voidal variety.”  - Levels of Classification Tome. Quests at this rank are estimated to have threats equivalent to two untrained mundane fighters per person.
    • Dedicant
      • The forth rung on the ladder of progression within the Scholarium. These individuals are powerful or smart enough that they can be relied upon in times of tragedy. “Class B - Equivalent to those who have mastered three arcane arts or are decent threats in the standards of magic outside of the voidal variety.”  - Levels of Classification Tome. Quests at this rank are estimated to have threats equivalent to two to three trained mundane fighters per person.
    • Adept
      • The fifth rung on the ladder of progression within the Scholarium. These individuals are trusted and competent in their specialisation, enough that they could be nominated as an elder. “Class A - Equivalent to those who have mastered four arcane arts or are to be very high threats outside of the magical variety.”  - Levels of Classification Tome. Quests at this level are estimated to have threats equivalent to four to five trained mundane fighters per person.
    • Maester
      • The sixth rung. A member of this rank is a one man squad, or an almost neurotically ambitious thinker/crafter that excels in their field of expertise. “Class S - Equivalent to those who can be considered major threats or have mastered five voidal magics.”  - Levels of Classification Tome. Quests at this level are estimated to have threats equivalent to seven to ten trained mundane fighters per person. Generally these are considered suicidal.
    • Archon
      • The seventh rung. A one man army or nation changing talent. An Archon is the pinnacle of what can be, and what all should aspire towards, whether in crafting, combat potential, medicine or otherwise. “Class SS - Equivalent to those who can be considered an extremely high level of threat that can be said to be anomalous. This is to seldom be used to classify something.”  - Levels of Classification Tome. Quests at this level are estimated to have threats equivalent to a small army. These are generally considered suicidal.

Politics

Tea-House Policy

The Tea-House Policy; so named in honour of the Tea-House of Celia’nor who faced guard brutality in the face of unchecked fiyem, is initiated within the city. Whereupon Diraar, by policy, are not permitted to investigate or unreasonably interfere with businesses or residential buildings without prior evidence and ‘warrant’ from the Mordu’lar, Aneh’wy, Aneh’Why or Parir. The exception being when a member of the Celia’diraar can effectively identify an imminent threat to life or reasonably articulate a crime suspected of being committed. Street tests are still permitted, and wearing masks and head coverings is still against the law.

Hohkmat Non-Aggression

Following heated discussions with Hohkmat, terms were finally laid out in a manner that allowed for peace to be officiated and ensured for years to come. Several concessions were made; such as the banishment and execution of two former magisters of Hohkmat who had acted against Celia’nor’s nobility and allegedly conspired with darkspawn. A public apology from Hohkmat to be made to Laurir Yera, on behalf of the misdeeds and transgressions made to slander and libel her name. Agreements were made to ensure that such things do not occur again, where darkspawn are not allowed to infiltrate Hohkmat, through the mobilisation of the Holy Blades within Hohkmats territory. Minas stolen through previous administration, evidenced through legitimate contracts, were returned to Lady Yera who in turn gave each mina to her Royal Highness for the betterment of the realm.

Hohkmat Investigations

The Celia’diraar, in concert with the Holy Blades of the Talyiinist Faith have painstakingly investigated Hohkmat for the whereabouts of their former Councillor who fled after being revealed as a form of darkspawn. The vigor and energy displayed by both factions of Celia’nor were much appreciated for this goal, however, concerns have arisen that investigations have been too strict and without as much care as could be expected.

After discussions with Mister Merfinzannib Moddleseddle Miminendilpigglegeggle, Grand Magister Faeryel and Lady Sarah Artenin, it has been deliberated upon and the First Abbess has installed new Darkspawn Testing procedures that have been verified by the aforementioned party as ‘adequate’ for ensuring that individuals tested are not unduly upset or overly injured. Additionally, the number of investigative expeditions have been decreased so as to not overly constrict the Academy of Hohkmats population.

Noble Court Revelations

4th Amber Cold, SA 191

Arthur Burke was decreed banished from Celia’nor with four noble Talonni ruling for banishment, and three noble Talonni ruling for execution as the penultimate result. This individual’s ruling is based on the allegations of salacious hedonistic advances with differentiating individuals who shall remain unnamed for their privacy’s sake.

6th Sun’s Smile, SA 189

Library Planning Permission was granted to Laurir Yera Silveira to use the libraries facilities for the Talyniist Scholarium, to add to its structure out of pocket and to add books to its then empty shelves. Planning permission was granted for a research and alchemical laboratory. A full time librarian has since been hired and now manages the libraries wealthy stock of knowledge. Two noble Talonni ruled in favour, there were no objections.

6th Sun’s Smile, SA 189

“We don't currently have official laws. Technically speaking, our Diraar are arresting people off of a gut feeling, from what I can tell. Our punishments range from execution to banishment. I propose at the very least a basic outline until our laws are fully written.”

The royal family has assured the noble Talonni that there are freshly curated laws currently being written. In the meantime, the Celia’diraar are to continue using self curated policies with her Royal Highnesses guidance. This topic was tabled.

6th Sun’s Smile, SA 189

The Noble Enlistment Act was passed. All Citizens of Celia’nor are expected to, at a young age, perform fifteen years at minimum within the military, or instead may choose thirty years of scholarly pursuits towards the benefit of the realm. A clarification was made that no individuals under the age of twenty five are permitted to be sent or allowed into the battlefield or into active dangerous line of duty.

6th Sun’s Smile, SA 189

The ‘Mech-Priest’ pardoning was rejected. Despite facing support in working alongside the ‘mech priest’ for unravelling circumstances involving the ‘cog crisis’, the mech-priest has been deemed too dangerous to the innocent or weak to warrant a pardon.

6th Sun’s Smile, SA 189

The Draft Evasion Act was passed. A proposition was made that a flat five hundred minas would be taken from whichever noble Talonni does not comply with sending forth two members of their family to the Diraar. Two noble Talonni were in favour, none objected.

Culture

Despite the individuality seen in many elves in Celia’nor, there are several key principles that all good abiding citizens exhibit. They are driven by their desire to erase ignorance and continue learning. Even if one is not militaristic, they understand the importance of the military. Scars are seen as badges of honour, fo they are those who have endured and will continue to survive despite the odds. A decent Celian is well-behaved and doesn’t scream excessively or wallow in uncouth alcoholism publicly.

Addressing nobility; To address a noble, one must be polite. In most circumstances a noble can be addressed using the honorific ‘Lord’ or ‘Lady’. However, this will not always be the case. If you are in doubt, you may ask politely ‘excuse me, how might I best address you?’ to which they will respond in kind. Those who take the mantle of nobility must hold themselves high to not besmirch their station. If your leader is equal to a common peasant in another realm, what does that say about yourself? What are you equal to?

Addressing royalty; To address a royal, one must be exceedingly polite. One should never draw their weapon in their presence unless in a defensive gesture on behalf of his or her royal highness. Structure, order and dignity are all hallmarks of royalty, whom are to be unassailable and must be thrust upwards into the highest peak, kept out of reach of the common crowd or haphazard challenges. Whilst within the presence of a royal, one should bow, curtsy or equivalent when introduced or greeting said individual. One should not disagree with a royal unless given the right to counsel them, something that should be requested subtly or in private. One should not sit whilst a Royal is standing unless given permission, and one should always stand when a Royal enters the room. With exceptions made for the physically infirm or crippled.

Addressing commoners; Commoners must be given reasonable respect, though respect may be disregarded if the commoner in question shows disrespect for the aforementioned respects towards nobility and royalty - or is engaging in criminal activity.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH", says Hael, the unnamed brave woman. Not because she's reading the newsletter, no, she hasn't been reading anything all year. Because she's still stuck in the CAVE. The screaming is related to the afformentioned being still in the cave. She's still in the got damn cave. Help.

A certain librarian enjoyed reading through the newsletter until he reached the portion about the library. Frustration could be kept to himself no longer as the paper was crumpled and set on fire. "AAAARRGHH!!!" At least he had more angry fingers to point at culprits.

A gentle yet legited smile formed on the Soltée’s face reading the news letter while having her morning tea. ”Oh Scholarium you’ve done it again.” She chuckled, sipping her tea with a smirk.
