On the tallest mountain of Koyo-Kuni, a Geisha garbed in a blue kimono climbed and climbed. She went through ventures to find the highest hill. A woman who dreamed of her destined warrior returning home. An honorable individual who she had so little time with but whom she could admire beyond any other. He who gifted her wisdom—a short comment that enlightened the Geisha to what her mind was becoming. And so, as he returned to his duties, she promised herself to become better, crawl out of her shell, and one day, tell him her achievements, her stories, and her whereabouts to see his smile again, when they were to meet again. However, something occurred. An unfortunate event that prevented her dream from becoming true. To her promise to be fulfilled.

She had not been around her people for a while, out of fear, sadness, and regret, but finally, she broke out of that shell and returned to what she was supposed to be. However, soon she made friends and allies in the town, in utter happiness. Awaiting for the wise warrior to return. She heard the news that the one she eagerly waited for had probably fallen in battle. She was told he charged courageously into the maw of the demonic skeleton, disappearing from everyone’s sight. It broke down the Geisha after hearing those words. She felt forever cursed by her forefathers, as she was not there for her people; she was not there to make them smile or sing and play tunes for their moments of desperation.

And so, this is the reason why she ventured into the cold mountains. No matter as this story continued, finally, she reached the top, her present story continues. Her knees met the ground, her body freezing but her mind was determined to sing. To echo her melody, act like a beacon of light, and ensure the legendary warrior will return. Her shamisen was in hand, and the strings were lightly touched. Her lips departed, and consequently, her angelic voice began to sing. The notes that were uttered in that scene echoed through the four winds and far beyond in a tender melody of someone who cared, who loved, and who hoped. In all of this, she prayed for her forefathers and CHIYOKO to bestow a blessing on her.

And so the song began.

“Mori mo iyagaru, Bon kara saki nya”

“ Yuki mo chiratsuku shi, Ko mo naku shi”

“Bon ga kita tote, Nani ureshikaro…”

And so the song continued, reaching its end after a while…

Hayo-mo yukitaya, Kono zaisho koete…

Mukou ni mieru wa, Oya no uchi…

After that, she exhaled a sharp breath:

“Please, Yosei Kiyoshi. Return… we are all waiting for you.”

🌸

I am waiting for you, heed my song. Yosei Kiyoshi.

Spoiler

Just a little roleplay post of my character. Feel free to react to it by saying you would hear a singing voice throughout Koyo-kuni or something similar. Saying that you heard this song or had a glimpse of a pale woman who wore a blue-kimono is all alright and public knowledge! 7 am post btw.

THis is for @Rushodan's character!

Somewhere, Kiyoshi certainly didn't feel like a legendary warrior. His back strained as the 'ame shifted a bale of hay onto a nearby pile. . .finally finished with his work in the fields for that day.

A bead of sweat was wiped, with the elf picking up his tools and returning to the small shack in which he called home. He would hope to hear a song like this, someday.

But that day would not be today. A bleating lamb greets the shepherd as a single hand moves to calm it, setting down the tools in the lean-to and returning inside for supper. Brief thoughts are given to his old life, to the weapon he had discarded after the battle. Still - it was not the time for him to return.

The soul of a coward once blessed with courage was now stewed with darkness, and he did not forget.

Shing, the coward's blade sharpened, and left sparks flying against the harsh winter winds.
