XIOMARAS DIARY ENTRY #8

Issued on the 5th of Veronica’s Strength, 118 D.R.

Spoiler

Dear diary,

I have seen the Almighty DIOS and there are no words to describe Him. Omnipotent, omnipresent, beautiful and so full of light. So dazzled by him I was, that if it were not for my attending guards, I may have been trampled by the ensuing earthquake.

The once Apostolic Kingdom of Aaun, once having been known as the Holy center of Aevos, has been burned. Destroyed.

And a short time later, do we see the trial of the Kingdom of Balian. Accused of plotting to schism, to go against the church. Nightmares plague me still, of the shouts to burn their Queen, of my beloved Uncle being assaulted and of my guards carrying me out as all descended into chaos.

I wonder, find the thought creeping into my mind, what those in the future would look back and see. Would these two Kingdoms survive? Will this time period be filled with turmoil? Or will this simply be but a blip in history?

My people, they insist that I take some time for myself. A breather. And yet the words of my late Abuela come round and round, that we cannot rest until every last one of those who would harm us are found.

But I try. I've squirreled away some time recently, for a chaotic dinner, to wander the orange orchard or to simply nap in the confines of a place long-forgotten by anyone but I.

Yesterday, though, despite some smaller troubles - yesterday was good. I set out with a small retinue, to attend the Petran Queens and her Kings wedding. The pew was a bit crowded, elbows jabbing everywhere but the ceremony was beautiful and the company even better.

I hope and I pray my own wedding can be just as good, as grand. Filled with laughter and camaraderie.

I know yesterday is one of those uncommon days, and so I shall treasure it close to my heart, for surely the time soon to come will be filled with the uncertainty of the desert sands.

Signed,

Xiomara.
