A DEPICTION OF THE STATE OF WHITESPIRE

Are we really good canonist? It is something we have to ask ourselves every day, because our work with GOD is daily as our prayers, we always have to take the way of GOD and reflect on our actions and thoughts with serenity. "So I am the Most High, and in pursuit of My Virtue, I bid my faithful this: You shall not be idle, nor forget your duties in favor of sloth." - Are we forgetting the Holy Scriptures? It never hurts to remember from time to time what our duty is in this world, TO SERVE GOD.

Many of us are being surprised, for better or worse, by the speed with which our world is evolving. Some are afraid to speak out, others assume they can do nothing... However, some, like me, are reflecting with GOD to find our most virtuous path in this world. And I ask myself, are we doing good?

The Church of the Canon has set a precedent for keeping humans more unified than ever, under a common motive - FAITH. However, is it being done in the right way? Is it right to interfere in the politics of the Realms of the Canondom if we want them to join our fight for the faith? Is it right not to entrust the work of the sacred struggle to the armies of our sister nations?

We need to be cautious. The Realms of Canondom are our brothers, no matter who they are. We all have the same mission in this world and that is why we have to count on them for such an arduous task. The church must act as a conciliatory element for unification - it must not always act in a judgemental way. We have before us a great opportunity to redress the wrongs, to please humanity, to unify it. However, blackmail, loss of faith, greed, conflicts between brothers and other sins will not solve anything, but will only plunge us deeper into chaos than ever before.

Therefore, I ask you, please, brothers, to pray and reflect, to connect with GOD and find the path that has been entrusted to us.

Penned by,

SIR Cedric, a faithful, a devout, a believer

"Quite right. The Church should act as a conciliatory force, one encouraging piety - not as a military or political entity, and certainly not one capable of murder without trial save for extreme circumstance. Where have those pacifist days gone? When redemption was prized, not slaughter under the guise of 'cleansing'? The compassion of mankind is withering, even as its zealotry bristles." Phillipe lamented the modern direction of faith in his study, gazing out over Krusev with a somewhat pensive expression.

"Our days are numbered, certainly... the one Empire, coming to consume the many Kingdoms. Perhaps that's just the way of things. The continuation of the cycle of man." A pause, and he went back to his report.

Upon reading Cedric's letter, Father Marc delivered the following remarks to his colleagues:

"I am of the opinion that the Holy Mother Church's goal should be to Unite Humanity under the Holy Light of our Lord God, and that despite the current bad state of the once-holy City of Whitespire, I am confident that the Church shall ensure that these lands properly develop and recover their former glory.

At the same time, I believe that in order to achieve such a holy purpose of unifying humanity His Holiness should ultimately coronate an Emperor to lead the Realms of Man, for while His Holiness holds the spiritual authority of the Lord, His Imperial Majesty should hold the secular authority of the Imperial State, so that both authorities may complement each other in perfect union.

In any case, I believe that the current leadership shown by His Holiness to command the faithful is commendable and that it is a good example for the future High Pontiffs or Emperors to follow, for he has achieved something that hadn't been possible in centuries: His Holiness has effectively become a common and central authority of Humanity.

And, It has become clear that when the humans are lost, divided and misguided they are weak and fail; and on the contrary, when the humans are united and led by a strong leadership together they are strong and they succeed, just as we shall now succeed under the leadership of His Holiness.

May the Holy Light continue to bless us all as we await the arrival of our rightful Emperor. Amen." he concluded.

The corpse - a rotting carcass - of the beheaded Marus Fabien Weiss lay in chilled conditions until his funeral might be held. Eyeless, with his head sewed to his otherwise healthy body, there was no pretty sight to behold. Though his cause was repulsive to some, he was but a gentle soul that founded himself in scripture where possible. Dead, he laid, not to any emperor or war or brigand but by the hand of a brother of GOD. Perhaps, it would seem, if he had not followed in faith or in principles as a man ought to, or in dedicating himself to a cause he deemed just, then - just perhaps - he may have lived.

Yet, that was not who he chose to be.

Surrounded by faith and his fellow man, he built bridges with the vulnerable and discarded in hopes he might save them from The Shadow. He lived defiant of common perception, defiant of man's politicking and demands to bend to the will of others. He sought to meet those figures who revelled freely in their power, toying with the lives of smallfolk they never met; all tries met with meager offerings of meetings, words exchanged, and none to come to fruition. Still, he never stopped. He never bent. He never wavered in that one cause of a happier, kinder world no matter what that meant for him.

He would die a man scorned.

He knew that. It never stopped him. Inconvenient for many, perhaps. Maybe that was a good thing, to test the boundaries of change. Love and kindness was easily forgotten to the flaws each person bore, particularly when one made themselves unapologetically defiant - for better, or for worse.

And so he died, slain by a brother of faith.
