THE FIRST REBUKE OF EDEL

 

So it was that the crusaders from the heart of Horen’s scattered tribes sallied into the east with sword and flame to rebuke the unrepentant tribes of Edel. With the great banner of mercy billowing over the siege camp, the crusader force gathered in force outnumbering the perverse pagans more than two to one. With veteran siege engine commanders the Edel Coalition had their weapons of war swiftly splintered, and the walls were torn down quickly after. With a single charge, the castle was taken.

 

Why was there a castle in the Shire in the first place? Why are hobbit-holes paved over by great turrets and settled by insidious pagans where one may pasture cattle, or plow fields? It is because the place once set for comfort and innocence has dedicated itself to war for the sake of pride, that they never be forced to admit any iota of wrongdoing. All of the faithful tribes of Horen are called to hold the shire in their prayers, as his Holiness commands a great search for righteous hobbits who may be an example for the redemption of their race.

THE SECOND REBUKE

 

The Edel Coalition refuses still to SURRENDER and REPENT as each has been called to do, for a multiplicity of reasons. Every month that passes in the stubborn defiance of church and the subversions be it implicit or explicit of the righteous cause burdens the hearts of the unrepentant with more sin. One cannot pretend they are unaware of the wrongs committed or unaware of the call for redemption only to then cry; O’, not me! I never knew this, I had no part of it! But alas, your swords were collected by the crusade, and your blood has been spilt on the lands of the righteous as your soldiers endeavor to plunder it.

 

The whole of Edel must be brought to purity by the FLAMING SWORD once granted to Owyn, founder of the priesthood. By the Mercyflame, you are called to SURRENDER and REPENT, though you have already broken much trust in your delay.

 

The Grand Duchy of Silasia stands in the middle of the marching order, and having observed this once again declares their withdrawal and unilateral exit from the war. Who has told you that it is enough to pretend to fire your bandits, and apologize for schism after the fact?

 

That you landed the excommunicants of the House of Mogg was not the sole issue, though notable and obvious as it is. You took in these brigands explicitly to defy the Church, knowing well who they are. One does not hear the name ‘Dreadlands’ and suppose “Oh, what gleeful farmers!” You knew they were a bandit caste who idolized the oldlands of the Flays, and you well knew you did this in opposition to the Church’s verdicts on the east.

 

But there is a new leader of Silasia, it is said, and it cannot be said that you have not tried to start the path of penance (though never once have you ceased in hostility, so these efforts we assert fall flat). Nonetheless you are ordered, if you are true to your word; ACTUALLY and TRULY expel the Dreadlings who you brought under your banners for the sake of war against the Church. Any of them who are righteous may make their appeals to the Church, though one who we had captured admitted plainly to his apathy to this consideration. ACTUALLY and TRULY stop all hostile actions against the Crusade, for it has been witnessed personally the persistent works of war your nation has attempted in the midst of its so-called withdrawal attempts. ACTUALLY and TRULY surrender yourself to the Holy Regency so it may see as it has for other wrongful dynasties a path of redemption.

 

If you do these things, setting the slate clean, a foundation of trust may be restored where there is a hope for Silasia. But this requires a true submission, true humility, and True Faith in the Plan of the Most Merciful, Singular, and Almighty Lord GOD. You are not assured of your pride; for this we shall take from you however willingly, for it is not for you to have. You are not promised the current state of your lands, for they are plagued by both pestilence and sin and need ritual cleansing. You are not promised the honorifics and grandeur you have set for yourself, for these have led you to the near occasion of sin. You are promised redemption and salvation if you accept the offer extended to you, who once was an innocent state, to be restored by the hand of the temple to former dignity.

To the rest of the Edel Coalition, you are warned again to surrender and repent. You plainly cannot win, and further defiance is done only in spite, which further incenses the Most Holy that you so detest His rightful rebuke you would endure torture for yourself in delight of your own sin. The lands must be ritually cleansed of the plague of shadow which has fallen on it, where even the High Priest has seen with his own eyes the necrotic pumpkins spawned of the shire. The ne’erdowells which reside within the taxed properties and hide behind their property rights shall be hung from the tree, and those who enabled their nesting shall hang by their side (most notably, the leader in Lurin who is directly witnessed to bear the markings of shadow on his skin).
