The Missing Headmaster

Preamble :

 

The Redquill College is undoutably a part of Chambery now and very much beloved by the City, it´s Citizens and Petrans everywhere. Since its arrival the City has grown much with an influx of students and teachers joining the free City to come teach and learn at this illustrious new College. Most peoples will know that Redquill teaches magic but it also teaches Alchemy and Herbology and so much more. Many students who have learned at Redquill have now opened buisnesses adding more life to our City, from shops selling enchanted items over to Alchemy students opening an Apothecary, even Church orderman have learned alchemy from teachers that also teach at Redquill, using their new learned skill today to help canondom. Redquill itself has also on many occassions helped Chambery defend itself against darkspawn or raiders during the war and also pledged donations in charitably endeavors like the construction of a new Monastery.

 

All in all it would be impossible to think of Chambery without the Redquill College and its surrounding community. This is why the Conseille Municipale of Chambery has decided to use its rights and take over the management of the College temporarily, to ensure its continued prospering and preparing it for the future.

 

1. Reason for the City temporary takeover in management of the Redquill College.

 

In the past year troubling changes have surfaced as the College had been moved by its Headmaster into the City itself and since the the headmaster has disappeared without a trace. The Conseille Municipale of Chambery has of course investigated and found that the disappeared Headmaster had not only forgotten to appoint a successor but also left the college without a structure or set of rules by which to chose a new Headmaster. Concerned the Free City has decided to use its rights as written in the Constitutional Ordinances of Wittenbach Way to infringe upon the College rights and take over its management temporarily to ensure its continued functioning as well to establish a working structure and set of rules for the college to work by in the future and chose a new headmaster or leadership with. In addition we also recognize that there have been concerns about the college in the past and present. While often they were unfounded accusations or irrational fears surrounding it we do recognize the concerns of those that have come to us seeking to find a solution for them and will endeavor to do so in the following years as we setup a new scholastic structure for the college.

 

2. Establishing a new structure for the college

 

With the  temporary takeover in management of the college the first action of the Free City will be in the next days to appoint a Conseiller of the Conseille Municipale to run it as interim Headmaster of the college to ensure its continued daily functioning. This will continue until a new structure and set of rules has been established for the college, after which a new leadership for it will be chosen. The chosen Interim headmaster will be properly vetted by the Conseille Municipale together with input from a church member.

 

The second task at hand will be to create these new scholastic structures and set of rules by which the Redquill college will continue to function. For this the Conseille Municipale will sit together with the professors of the College as well as invite other advisors from Petra or the church to give ideas, representation and talk about their potential concerns. The idea is to involved everyone to ensure college is fully trusted and that its new structure will be infallible. This process is planned to take at least a year if not more as it is important to us to do things correctly. We do hope to take inspiration from the City structure itself or that of the Nothern Geographical Society, as it has worked as a guild for 250 years and never had any issues in leadership before or any scandals in its history.

 

It will be much work but it will be well worth the trouble, as stated before the Redquill College has become a part of chambery´s community, an important academic college were student can safely learn the use of magic, alchemy, herbology and surily so many more new subjects in the future.
