  1. 1. Do You PK? How often? Why? Are there special circumstances?

    • I PK under special circumstances (e.g, when I feel its time, when my character dies an awesome death)

    • I rarely PK, if ever.

I used to be quite a lot like Mr. Jihnyny here, PKing my characters quite often.
There was even a bit of a joke among my friends that non of my characters live past 40. Which has been true til the current character, Bon'Ox that i'm playing.

There have been some that feel unfair or make people upset, like Gr'ogg who got 2v11 to death & Gob Ztabba-Zniffa who a lot of people liked & died in a PK-clause duel with Jihnyny's character. But both those character's were fun despite them both being alive only for about 2-3 months.
There's also Pym Volkov who got his throat sliced infront of a whole coucil of people by Charles II for saying 'Petra has no King' ((And other things)).

However, all these characters did do things & had consequences be public deaths. I guess that's my main criteria for when i PK a character.

A lot of people have to see it & be present to it.
My current character has managed to live a longer & happier life because well.. i've managed to navigate the dangerous RP better & not do something because it's kinda funny.

If it brings you any comfort, know that your mistake was emblematic of why the evil skinwalker lizardmen triumphed over the golden hair + pronouns ubermensch warriors in that eventline

As bad as Nate's Death was, it was only a fraction as embarrassing as Xan's. (Still Grumpy, though >:T)

I still to this day despise how I was PK'd. Not a fan in general, since I tend to play one character and want to stick with them for as long as I can. The fact there's nothing I can do with how my Character died (Obliterated in Mind, Body, *And* Soul) means there's no rp potential, whatsoever.

(Am I VERY Salty? Yeah I am, and I know there's no way to void it no matter how hard I try.)

Life reminds me of a hard PK. It was only during the summer winter autumn night that I looked into the sky and could see the sun and the moon, the air gently wafted over my face. I saw rain but it was extremely hot like the summers wrath but cold like the winters leer. "Quip! Quip! Quip!" they cried to me during this mornings night. "Heh, behind you," he retorted as the Queen of the Abyss was fooled! "Heh,"

I want to say I PK on the first death because when I joined the server, that's what I promised myself to do, but the very first time one of my personas died, I realized how boring that was. It was your classic halt on the road banditing and watching this play out with a character that by this point had been through way worse and survived and who had so much ahead of her, I just didn't care for it. I did not want to give up this beloved character for RP where she could have been swapped for anyone else and the result would have been more or less the same.

Honestly, I was gonna write some long post about why I won't PK in certain situations but really it just comes down to I won't PK to wrong place, wrong time deaths. The end of a character's story is the most important to me and I don't want to PK to some random incident where they could be replaced by anyone and the result would be the same. I have PKed to wrong place, wrong time situations before, but in those cases, my persona did something that made the death feel fitting for them. I just want an ending that helps me remember them as they were and a random run-in with someone looking for anyone to kill/harm usually won't do it.

I only PK when I truly feel like my ch's story is complete and fulfilled, I haven't had that feeling yet though(Mainly because i haven't been in many conflicts). I'm also scared of giving my ch's a premature death, I don't want to look back and go "Man I could have done so much more" and end up disappointed. It's selfish, but I want my character's to end on a strong and poetic note. I wouldn't have them die by being stabbed by a random NPC bandit or robbed for example, i'd want their deaths to have a genuine meaning and impact.

3 death rule.

or just rp the character until u dont have fun anymore.

i think for other players, i dont care if they pk or not, so long as they show realistic self preservation through their characters. i

have a stupid tall knight made of black wet stone why are you charging it as an unarmored woman brandishing a dagger? you WILL die?? makes no sense and is immersion breaking and i think would defo push some spook players to low effort villainy. whats the point in investing time in rp if players just charge at them to no consequence anyway? idm it personally, but PK MORE OFTEN! OR RP YOUR CHARACTER BEING MORTAL!
