       A Dream of Greater Krugmar

By Filbert Flipperfoot, Steward of Lurak, in translation of the ways of the Sage Rhak’Dom, Rex of Lurak

The Modern Orc is dignified, honorable and chafes at the idea of bowing to others. He speaks the Common Tongue and does business with Pinkies, Albai, and Ztoutz when the need demands it. To integrate Modern Lurak into the present world, we have educated our people, and desire to admonish those who wish to rob nature of its banquet. Other Free Peoples, such as the Haeseni, Haelunorians and Salvians also refuse to bow and have earned our respect rather than our mockery.

At the heart of an Orc’s honor is the idea of tribute. The world has never been a pure and ethical place. When Iblis offered the Four Brothers gifts, it was only Krug who spurned the Red Spirit. As such, in respect of the hallowed traditions of the Peoples of Krugmar who have been forced into diaspora, whose sandy dunes and wastes have been commandeered by their far-flung cousins, all other species must return gifts to the Rex of Lurak and his people if they desire his protection and allegiance.

The Greentide will roam where it desires and take that which is overabundant on the earth. The Orcish People are resolute scavengers and survivors. To be exempt from this risk, it is customary to partake in gift-giving. It is said the great Hordespeaker Grommash offered meat and fire to all who visited his encampment of Orcgrimmar. Likewise, guest rite is always offered to those visiting Lurakahn so long as they honor the Tenets of Krug and offer no verbal or physical desecration of the space they are inhabiting.

The Modern Orc is well-spoken and resolute. The Modern Orc pines for peace and not just war. However, to produce peace, one must destroy their aggressors. In the intermittent years of the First Lurakan Junta spearheaded by the Rexkhan Daahd’Lur, many offered us tribute and were given protectorate status, only to turn their blades and prime them for our backs when we went to war.

Just as once Horen, Malin and Urguan turned their backs on Krug, these people turned their backs on us. So, what is given by Lurak shall never be granted freely again, all tribute is earned. All the countries of the world shall work to engage with Lurak diplomatically or face incursions of the Greentide. Many have come to us offering us their beef and coin. Some pay us 10 minas per week or a crate (64 beef) a week.

This is enough to sustain our caravans for travel as we travel triumphantly to defend our tributaries and allies from foreign incursions whenever we might get the chance. The Zhomo Lodge spearheaded by Motsham Madoc’Lur honors us teaching New Orcs their place in our fledgling society. The veterans of the Iron Horde offer us wisdom and counsel and partake in our society with the earnest desire to help our young.

Wagh is inevitable. Times do change, Allies change, Rexes change like the shifting of the Great Dunes or the birth of a new World Cactus. However, the indomitable spirit of the Orcish People cannot change, and shall remain willfully stubborn against those who seek to despoil it by way of treachery or deceit.

The Modern Orc has emerged from the Great Dunes to wreak devastation upon our enemies and reap a tremendous profit from our great factories and exported goods.

Signed,

The Gortslayer Rhak'Dom, Rex of Lurak, Razer of Ubuntus, former Targoth to the Khan of Khans
