AMPHIBIANS AVENGED

 

It was a harrowing sight in Solgaard in the wake of the frog massacre, and unfortunately for the perpetrator there had been a druid lurking just out of sight in the woods. It boggled her mind the sheer disregard for life of a creature with little means to defend itself paired with the overwhelming amount of corpses that littered the riverbed. This measure of cruelty went beyond tormenting one animal, it decimated a whole section of an ecosystem within the encampment. Even with that put aside, there were the cries of the poor amphibians that the Skaði could hear echoing throughout the song cut short by the brutish gnome.

It was too late for to intervene when she had reached the river, the frogs felled. And so she stalked and schemed like no other. For hours did she toil, staking out the area. Laying in wait as she deduced the burrow, watching from afar like a predator stalking its prey. Her rage at the transgression boiled, threatening to spill over- Yet she had not been able to isolate the gnome to confront him directly. As time past, she was able to temper her anger. There was a lesson to be taught here to more than one.

And so there were two who descended into the burrow initially; One much smaller than the other, both infiltrating after shifting of the tree. From there, it was a free for all.

That within the burrow felt the wrath of the druid and her small accomplice, very few things were safe. Two messages were left for the denizen to read:

 

"Scorn nature again, and it will not be the frogs alone in the ground."

And

 

"WE KNOW WHAT YOU'VE DONE."

 

The latter was accompanied with a deceased frog, taken from the early aftermath of the mass amphibian murder. 

Curiously.. There was a third set of footprints that could be found in the burrow, but with the least amount of tracks. Who could this be?
