A SUMMONS FOR  ALL MAGES

-=-=-=-=-

I allowed the scholars of Aevos to ponder for a month on the Meeting day and I have Decided.

Saturday (3/1) At 6 Pm EST

The meeting itself Will be Hosted by the College of Red quill, in Chambery, the port town below Petra. There will be Signs from the square leading to the college.

Regardless if you are a member of the college or not, you are invited, and regardless of your feelings for the the place, I encourage you to show up and speak your peace.

Any one Interested In the Arcane, be it a master mage, a newly connected "acolyte", or a farmer who just heard about magic for the first time, is invited.

I plan on discussing 3 major topics at this meeting, with open floors for each. If you wish to speak, prepare a piece. Those topics are as followed

1. The Decline in arcanists, and why?

2. What direction does the community of Wizards want to head towards. I.E. how to responsibly use the void

3. What caused the shift in nations banning our practice? and what can be done about it.

These are the topics I wish to discuss. If there any important discussions, write me a letter personally and I will see if it should be added.

I will make my intentions Very clear. I do not wish to create a magi guild. I am not the new age Kalgrimmor, or Grand Magister.

Mages will continue to stalk in their towers, and you can do so without any loyalty to me.

I want our community to grow and prosper.

If you see the void being abused and feel the community of voidal scholars is going down the wrong path, then I gift you this opportunity to fight for your beliefs and state your mind among peers.

Dear Fellow Mage,

I also have noticed the lack of new mages and the steady dying of the art. While unfortunate for us with nostalgia for it, at this point, we must face an unfortunate truth; it's simply not worthwhile for the younger generations anymore.

Spells that take us 30 years to master are now significantly less effective than a throwing stick, bow, and especially potions that can mimic the most powerful spells in our arsenals. Worse, the social stigma has gone from the nuetral state it was in Aegis and the following early lands to being associated with the equally changed void creatures. Where once they were neutral knowledge seeking types, complex, unknowingable, and profound, they've become nothing more than mindless goopy monsters with a generic 'kill all life' mentality that makes them good for aimlessly throwing at any group who needs something to kill.

Ontop of all that, the inability to safely gather is a truth we can not ignore. Auengelic mega bomb entities, their followers, and other large groups seek easy targets, and many magi would rather not 'click'. In groups, we make easy targets, and they can back up their claims of bringing justice through the actions of modern void creatures and dark mages who also get to use it.

TLDR; Void magic in its current state is not worthwhile. It's weak compared to mundane options, carries a negative social stigma, and gathering simply makes mages easy targets. Short of removing the potions that mimic our spells, shortening charge times, making the void truly neutral again, and finding SOME sort of protection of the major armies seeking easy targets, I don't see how it will flourish anytime soon.
