𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔐𝔬𝔯𝔫𝔦𝔫𝔤 𝔉𝔯𝔬𝔰𝔱

You know what they say, 'Honor amongst Thieves' and all that.

Recruitment

Lets cut to the chase, you're here to make money, right? And you don't seem too picky about how you get it. Well I've got just the thing for you. We pride ourselves in doing jobs most would find... underhanded. From thievery to spy work and everything in between!

Best part, we don't care if you've got lead shoes. Can't be subtle to save your own life? That's fine, just smash what you gotta and knock heads with whoever. I'm sure there's a job that requires a hammer.

Just remember, this ain't a mercenary guild. What we do will absolutely get you locked up if you get caught so... don't do that. And if you do, we never met.

Services

Here To spend your coin? Well whatcha need. Someone got an item you want? Need to dig up some dirt on someone? Or maybe a rival business is taking all your customers. We can always send them a message, a broken window or a broken bone... Whatever the case may be, if it's a job that the law won't like then we're the ones to do it. Price for our is negotiable, and best of all, we keep it confidential!*

Not only that but we wind up gathering a wide arrange of items we can't use or don't want. We'll wind up selling them off to anyone who needs 'em more. Or maybe you've got a hot item you need to discard of quickly. We can probably take it off your hands for a fair price.

*Disclaimer: Client Confidentiality is not 100% guaranteed, everything has a price

Structure

This isn't the military. There aren't 'Ranks' per say. Not official ones anyhow. The only one with a proper title is the Guild Master. The one in charge obviously.

However, there are some guidelines to follow, for your safety and the safety of the guild;

We are not Assassins
Seriously, killing brings too much attention

Keep it Rich and Resourceful
Only go after things we can sell or use, No petty crap for the fun of it

Fake Names and Masks
Get used to being called something different and hiding that pretty face of yours

I don't know you
Don't associate another through the guild. And if you get caught, you don't know us either

Honor amongst us
Don't be stealing from one another, save for friendly rivalry. Betrayal need not be mentioned

Don't get followed
If they're chasing you, lose them. Far from here

Take the job, do the job
We got a reputation to keep

OOC Info

On top of being a guild, I also hope to use this as a way to make crime more interesting to RP. Seeing more than simple banditry on the roads or signs on your chests and doors. While also letting those who don't want to openly be a criminal still be involved in some way via hiring said criminals or buying from them. Even offering the chance to catch or at least investigate break-ins that weren't seen first hand via a system I came up with as seen  below

Spoiler

Overview

All actions must first adhere to the rules below

https://www.lordofthecraft.net/systems/

As it stands you’d need someone physically there to ever know who it was who broke in or stole something, and that would usually mean you’ve been caught.

With this system at least there is more that could potentially be done to bring about more rp and real risk that someone might find out who did the crime.

While this is not something that can be properly enforced, I highly encourage people to use this as it’d encourage and stimulate more rp from petty crime.

Evidence

Of course, when you break into a building you’re going to leave behind signs of your entry, or failure of, but it shouldn’t end there. Success or failure you aren’t always going to get away like a shadow in the night. Someone is bound to see something! Or perhaps you left behind scraps of clothing or identifying icons.

  •  After finishing a petty crime, successful or not, you /roll 20 to determine how successful your escape from the scene was
    • 1-5 means you’ve basically been seen walking out the door! Witnesses are able to pick you out in a crowd.
    • 6-10 Bystanders definitely saw something, but they never got a good look at your face.
    • 11-15 A passerby thought that they saw someone skulking about, but maybe it was all in their head?
    • 16-20 You got outta there without a trace!

  • If you are looting more than one chest in the same building/shop, you will incur a -2 penalty to every following chest to the above mentioned roll.
    • The penalty goes away after the same 24 hour period as the loot cooldown

Mechanically what this would mean is that along with the sign signifying that someone has broken in, you give details of varying degrees based on how good or bad your roll is. The lower the roll the detailed the witness statement you give without blatantly stating who it was that did it. You would base this statement based on your skin and/or bio description.

If you are committing crimes from a spot where a witness would not make sense, leave behind some physical evidence of some kind, like scraps of cloth, or a trail in the direction of your home/hideout.

Note: If you are caught at any time during the crime then you can safely disregard all this

Heists

Since heists have their own rulings, there will be some variations here as well.

The Heist Leader is entirely responsible for keeping track of all the points listed below, and making sure that they are agreed upon BEFORE the heist starts;

  • Only the Heist Leader will make the roll
  • Only 1 sign is needed to encompass all thieves
  • The penalty will only apply based on how many thieves are involved after the minimum of 3. With a -1 applying to each thief after.
  • When writing the evidence, you will follow the above table but include 1 extra member of the party per magnitude of failure.
    • HL for 11-15, HL+1  for 10-6, and HL+2 for 5-1
    • Only the heist lead needs to be the most detailed, as they shoulder the most risk, the others may be left vague
    • Assign who will be hinted at beforehand to avoid confusion on scene
  • After placing the sign, the heist lead will make one last emote quickly describing their escape from where they placed the sign. Based on the roll they will do this in either #q, #rp or #s based on magnitude of failure.
    • You can ignore this if you roll high enough.

For RP reasons you may forgo rolling and simply write whatever you want to reveal, if it is for a heist, everyone must agree before doing so.
