MysticalWeasel 911 Share Posted April 2, 2025 Edit the severance mechanic to not be stackable. The wording and lack of redline protection implies someone can spam the severance. Instead of an applied cooldown of 14 OOC days after being severance to prevent spam ganking or stacking of the timer. Outside of that seems fine, I'd also recommend specifying naztherak as revealed. Cause merely knowing they are a Naztherak implies they are then privy to being weak to all the abilities in the magic. Could lead to major confusion in CRP if a naztherka has yet to connect and is afflicted by abilities which then causes them to be sudo revealed causing a weird chain reaction

amongus 816 Share Posted April 3, 2025 erm. . . formatting not responsive for all devices, goes off screen. -2 questions for @Pallodiumtho! most of which are less directly mechanical and more regarding design choices bc i like talking about them 1. is there any reason that alchemical creatures like an automaton would be considered impure beyond just being misunderstood by tahariae? maybe i have the wrong interpretation of lore but i was under the impression that a creation based completely in the mundane and the material plane wouldn't be affected by someone who wants a natural world unfettered by gods. tawkin is specifically written to be anathema in the eyes of gods, but animatii is an art based on improving the mundane w/ implications of garumdir's influence through knowledge rather than any blessings. 2. judgeless is almost the exact same flavor of mysticism's unbound fates without any of the stipulations such as an amputated arm, not being functional on demons and other fully-claimed CAs as well as the false souls of beastfolk. do you intend to add similar restrictions, or is this meant to be a stronger version of said ability? imo it's a bit of a theme conflict as a high form of soul manipulation that can make sense given the deity but undermines the abilities of others, which is why i ask for your thoughts >: ) 3. mists were a central part of paladin spellcasting, functioning as their gift from xan's blessing after being "embered"/connected. ik the mechanics are different and that water is another descriptor of the spells created by their censers, but is there a reason you both chose for mists in some cases over something like pillars of water or solidified light? maybe it's just me but i feel like at some points the consistency of how their spells manifest is lost when it switches back and forth between clouds of mist and the calm streams of holy water, especially since the former was once the identifier of a paladin. can't think of many more to ask other than those rn but the post is cool

The intended concept behind this would be the fact that to Tahariae (and by extension his blessing), Alchemy and its subcompounds would be inherantly unknown/confusing, and we thought it’d be interesting to view this in a similar sense to an allergy (nonharmful thing deemed to be harmful out of confusion). Though, the point you bring up pertaining Animatii is certainly valid- I’ll alter it to have that weakness/allergy only to Tawkins. 2. Judgeless certainly has a overlap w/ Unbound Fates, but the reason it exists here (with a larger scale than Unbound Fates) is that ‘purification of soul’ is something which numerous Tahariae relics/artefacts have been able to do upon killing something, and was a thematic element which many wanted to see in some sort of ritual form. Whilst it does seem like it undermines the abilities of others, one key thing is that Mysticism is of the mystics themselves doing said action, whilst Judgeless has direct interference via an Aengudaemonic blessing- but I feel like it makes sense for Clericism and Mysticism to have overlap in this field, given both have themes and abilities that make sense for this. 3. In all honesty, mists glossed over my head as being a Paladin thing lol, I didn’t quite intend it to be Xannic but rather just watery foam and such- I definitely don’t want visual overlap between these holy magics, so I’ll go through and alter those tells to be fixated back on ribbons & streams of water/light & perhaps clouds for spells like Calming Rains.
