Balian Annum, 161

High above the blackened sky,

The light has just kissed the night,

Silhouettes on the rise,

Marching towards Portoregne.

Hear the bells quivering

Hear the drums, drums beating,

Silhouettes, doom they bring

Yet the Balianites do sing (They sing)

Men, they want us dead,

They want us red,

They want our heads,

We won’t let them.

Without a fight,

Don’t close your eyes,

We’ll die tonight,

We won’t fly tonight.

We’re here to stand,

Till the last man,

Fall for our land,

And the Novellen.

Hear us sing,

Voice thundering,

No faltering,

We Fight for the King.

Fight for the King

Fight for the King

Fight for the King

Fight for the King

Die for the King

Die for the King

Die for the King

Die for the King

Die for the King

We’re still breathing,

Though Deaths waiting,

It’s Novellen

Or it's Nothing.

"As my city falls, I shall fall with her..."
So declared John II, King of Balian.

Helena watched the battlefield from afar, trembling. No sword nor shield, or armor to wear - Kathryn's prayers rung in her mind like salt upon the wound. The Lord Justiciar sulked back from the towers window, head hung.

"They shall meet GOD, and He will call blasphemy this Cult of Novellen." Rosceline's face was ash and gloom beneath shadow of her veil.

Her eyes chased the solemn words of her book of hours, by which she was knelt in worship, and she so spoke:

"So Reynard said to Godfrey as he offered him the Crown of his People: Heed, sons of Horen, for our king returns.

Edgan Lowards would walk the Road with no particular pace, moving towards the city. Can he hear what time has past on amongst the wind gale? He knows not, his helmet feeling heavy as it is light upon his head. Promises of assistance he had made, should he have been around or within the walls. The Road provides routes of fate and destiny, and the Road had barred his path forward.

"Tha Road, mait it proivide for tha needy. Mait I fin' Forgevnessa as I walk it. Aled, Forgev me."

For what he had missed, he intended he would view the city in its fallen glory when he arrives, and stay in vigil peacefully if no one might accost him.

"Novellen or Nothing? It appears it will be Nothing, then.", said an armoured figure, standing within the conquered Royal Palace of Portoregne.
