Please stop nitpicking the one-off green eye'd Elf. Which, but you clearly do not know was done so due them being bright shining neon eyes, not because they were green. The standard isn't as high as you are making it out to be and I feel like you come to each of these updates with the same exact argument without listening to what anyone has to say. If an app is put on pending it is done so for a reason. There are guidelines in place which we follow.

No, I briefly said more apps should be accepted and then made an unrelated suggestion (90% of my comment) about updating app format to encourage players to pick subraces, but you all got extremely mad and lasered in on the first part and demanded I defend my viewpoint that more players should get accepted.

Then, in response, I demonstrated how the standards for new players' characters are higher than the standards existing players' characters are held to, but you ignored that point, because your goal here is just to lecture me about how difficult your job is (but of course - I never even said it was easy; I said reviewals should be less strict, which would make the work easier and lower effort, not the reverse) and pretending you're responding to an argument I didn't start (and which you haven't read) is your way of doing that.

In addition to that, the app format is pending a change which admins have to push through, which aims to make things clearer and avoid confusion for the applicant. As well as a brand new guide page which aims to better help players through the process, which also looks to reduce the amount of pending and denied apps. Please stop acting like we aren't working on any of the issues with both acceptance and retention, when clearly you don't even read what these update posts are saying.

I never said you aren't working on anything. Again, all your repeated accusations that I'm not reading what you're saying are obviously just projection.

It's funny though that on the one hand you're criticising me for "saying the same things for years" ("we should accept more players") but on the other hand you're criticising me for not pretending the next New Player Guide will be a panacea to all problems and suddenly every noob will write an amazing lorepilled app and get accepted, as if that hasn't been said before. I'm sure your new guide will be great - but I didn't comment on it at all! I didn't say you weren't working on anything or that it would be bad; it's just totally irrelevant to what I was saying.

Retention data please, someone needs to slave away and find out how many new players actually stay for more than a few days/weeks.

not trying to be an op marb but in the nicest way possible but this was the skin they were denied for, of which there's nothing wrong with. it's abundantly clear what the skin is communicating and if whoever reviewed this app didn't understand that then they shouldn't be reviewing apps. it brings into question what kind of other silly, easily adjustable things players are being denied/pending if things as oddly specific as "eye brightness" is enough to get someone put on denied or pending

speakign in a more generalized sense here but like, while obviously it's critical to retain some kind of filter, the LOTC RP experience is so unregulated that it's hard to not criticize why it seems like the standards for whitelisting are more rigid than when you're actually accepted and playing server. staff don't regularly moderate how tall a character is, their eye brightness, skin tone, hair saturation, their backstory, their emote length, etc, and yet these are standards that applicants are held to because... why, exactly? if these were things staff actually moderated, it'd be annoying and stupid but at least it'd be consistent

if it's something easily adjustable, non problematic, or that doesn't otherwise get moderated post-application process, it shouldn't be a barrier for entry. it just seems like an incredibly detrimental attitude towards applications that most people outside of CT actually care about or would be impacted by in-game. I try not to fault CT because I acknowledge that admins have a vice grip on the application process and actually putting forward any change would mean they'd have to give the greenlight but it's hard not to when this is stuff they regularly defend

as lotc's number one opinion haver my DMs are open if this is something CT are open to discussing I have many thoughts u_u

I think opposite to james2k and think that apps should take more effort and more knowledge of their character and how they might fit into what the current state of lotc is, i.e. recent events, places etc. Applicants should have access to up to date info on wtf is going on and implement this in their app.

But I nevertheless come to the conclusion that staff r dense
