Player(s) Involved

Croangutan, doyoudrain

Explanation

Yesterday night I was roleplaying with Croangutan, wherein our characters were meeting. My character Ludmilla mentioned having served in many wars such as the Adrian rebellion. After that he started asking about how she could be so old, and seemed content with knowing she is just really old and God decided it wasnt her time yet.

After the roleplay, he adds me on discord  and asks how she is immortal. Innocently, and assuming we were in good faith (worst mistake ever) I confess that she is a vampire. We continue for talk for a bit and that's it.

In the morning I wake up and find out he has been telling multiple people that Ludmilla is a vampire. When confronted about it, he said it was very obvious, which I disagree with.

Evidence of uncooperative conduct.

Evidence

https://imgur.com/a/Vm3QlwK his argument might have been valid (although rply vampires arent really known to dislike sunlight) but the moment he asked about the immortality

he invalidated everything imo.

Hello. I can agree that it looks quite sus that I began running around saying that she was a vampire. I do think I could have done it differently (further the rp and what not), but I did bring it up in the screenshots that there was something off about the interaction between them. My character is in lore a very read up man who tends to be calm in these situations. So Ludmilla denying the existence of vampires could have been enough for him to suspect it. Not to mention the fact she hid her age and mentioned enjoying the dark.

I'm down on voiding the rp, as I would feel bad if one of my "bad guy" characters was discovered so easily. So I apologise for rushing the arc.

Thank you for not requesting a punishment btw. I do agree that this could have been acted out differently, but imo I think I had enough ground for this reason. If I could change one thing I wouldn't go around screaming about it and I would say something vague "Something is strange about her."

Sorry for the trouble if I gave you any.

you're quite alright it was no trouble, just a slight annoyance!

im happy we came to an agreement, and i am partially going to blame myself as well. the moment i caved in and mentioned her being a vampire i partook in metafuel, had I just ignored the question this wouldn't have happened.

thanks for the cooperation ^_^

Claimed; will respond tonight.

You guys seem to have settled amicably which is great and props to you both. If either of you want to add anything, I'll post tonight to confirm the void and close the report.

Okay, so --

Like I said above, good job for sorting it out amicably between yourselves. While I'll close the report, I do think it is worth just commenting on the substance from a Moderation point of view.

It's not unheard of that a CA/MA character will 'out' themselves on account of their unnatural age. In this case, @Croangutan does present a reasonable case that his character could have deduced that @marikandaperc's character was some kind of 'dark' creature based on the factors he lays out in his reply. If he had left that RP encounter, said to his buddies, "Gee, she sure seems like vampire; maybe we should keep an eye out for her," then that would have been totally fine.

The logic was sound and reasonable -- up until the OOC exchange.

By virtue of Marika telling you her character was a vampire and then you saying that in roleplay, your (otherwise reasonable) assumptions are completely overshadowed by this OOC interaction. It casts doubt over your roleplay, and it robs you of the benefit of the doubt completely. I also think some credit has to be given to Marika -- a lot of CA players often go to great lengths to OOCly conceal that their character is a vampire, so the fact that she was fairly honest about this is one of the reasons I want to highlight the dangers of muddying the waters of roleplay with OOC.

So, just always remember to be careful. OOC knowledge is the bane of good RP, especially when it comes to areas like this when there's a lot of scepticism about metagaming and bad-faith RP.
