Penned by, Iekami Homura

In the year of our Lord, 2045

⊰───────────────── ❀ 虎 ❀ ❀ 虎 ❀ ─────────────────⊱

⊰────────────────────────── ✦ 耐 ✦ ──────────────────────────⊱

I WAS BORN WALENTYNA ZOFIA JAZLOWIECKI,

and for years I bore that name with pride. I carried its legacy, honored its lineage, and tried to live up the greatness those before me presented. Yet the more I walked this path, the more I felt its confines, and the pride I once held was given way to clarity. I came to the realization that the name I carried does not belong to me.

I renounce the Jazlowiecki name, and with it I waive any claim to titles it holds or will hold in the future. That legacy, once mine to honor, is not one I will carry any longer for my spirit does not belong to it. But, I do not stand without roots. From my mother flows truer blood, and through her, I return to the house of my ancestors. House Iekami, born among the Oyashi and since endured through the rise and fall of other lands, once a line of those who sought to aid in the protection and progression of those they were sworn to, and those who ventured towards more scholarly pursuits. Though the house has long since slumbered, its spirit endures, waiting for someone to rekindle the spark it once had.

With my mother’s blessing, I take her name. No longer Walentyna Zofia Jazlowiecki, as that girl and that name are gone. From this day forward, I am HOMURA IEKAMI. I have not merely inherited ambition; I have proven it. Through tireless work, and the encouragement and wisdom of those closest to me, I have made myself DOMUS MINSTRI, Head Steward and Lady Treasurer of Lotharia. My achievements are known not through title, but by will of my own, the discipline of my mind, and the sheer resolve of my spirit. Others see what I have wrought, they know that greatness is earned, not given.

Now I dedicate myself to the revival of HOUSE IEKAMI, a family tempered by wisdom, guided by ambition, and to be renewed in flame. It will endure beyond storms and beyond time, just as those before me intended. This is my vow, and these are the words by which House Iekami shall endure:

BY WILL, WE CONQUER

意志により征する

Though sad, Mikolaj was proud of his daughter

"Your mother's blood was never one to stand still, soar into the future, and know we both back your choices"

“What a strong young lady,” The Amiratus said, smiling towards the missive. “—I almost wish I was more like her when I was young.. but oh, how I knew she had potential. I’m sure House Iekami will just flourish beneath her!”

Miyako couldn’t help but smile as she read the missive, “I know I’ve put my family’s name and legacy in good hands.”

Miroslaw Jazlowiecki nodded as he read the missive. "I've always been proud of you, sister, and though we no longer share a name, you are always welcome as family at my table. Bear your new name honorably and make our ancestors proud."

From up in the Seven Skies, Masashi Iekami grinned at his descendant's revival of the house he and his father and brother built. That said, his eyebrow raised as he saw the bottom of the missive from a certain Lechian's hands. "...Since when was that the House Motto?"

Though not a proclamation the Prince of Ivoria had any political attachment to, keeping a copy of the missive became something important. Conrad Keen tucked it within a journal full of old war documents. A happier thing than the rest, and yet it held an admirable pride not unlike winning a battle. He did not ask of her greatness. And yet even tucked away in the highest of towers, he felt it through writing alone.

Homura had done something he never could. To simply abandon one's titles to pursue something better? He lacked the resolve to do so. Where she had found a horizon to chase until she could see past it, to a future that suited her better than the bindings of family and responsibility. Perhaps, just perhaps, the fledgling prince could take flight as she had and run beneath her shadow.

Elneth smiled gently to herself as she quietly read through the missive. "Words alone cannot express how proud I am of you, Homura. I know how hard at work you've been to make a proper name for yourself and I look forward to watching your journey."
