Apprentice Wanted

THE GRAND ARBITER IS SEARCHING FOR A SINGLE INDIVIDUAL TO FILL A PERMANENT APPRENTICE PLACEMENT. This person shall be educated in the arcane arts, esoterica, arcane artificing, diplomacy, court and imperial etiquette, and shall be expected to perform both physical and administrative labour throughout their placement. Following the completion of their apprenticeship with satisfactory results, they shall be guaranteed an above entry level Imperial Mage qualification and posting, subject to outlying circumstances. Application is not a guarantee of acceptance, applicants shall be interviewed provided that they fulfil the requirements.

 

THE FOLLOWING EXPECTATIONS ARE A MANDATORY PART OF THIS PLACEMENT, applicants must be capable of performing within a high stress environment, and must not be easily tempted by promises of power or longevity at the cost of their soul and or moral compass. Applicants must be of Horen descent, and cannot be the sole heir or primary inheritor of a noble title of count or higher. Applicants must be comfortable with participating within noble events, maintaining decorum and must be meticulous in their preparation both for these social situations and potential combative circumstances that may arise. Applicants shall agree to at LEAST sixteen years of training, though this period may be extended or ended early based on poor performance or outlying circumstances. Applicants shall be expected to perform Imperial Mage duties and/or accept conscription to the Imperial Guard, and shall be subservient to his Imperial Majesty, and Imperial Highnesses in every way without exception.

Ⅰ. REQUIREMENTS

 

THE FOLLOWING ARE REQUIREMENTS THAT ARE NOT OPTIONAL, DO NOT SHOW UP TO AN INTERVIEW IF YOU DO NOT FULFILL THESE. This position is highly demanding and requires one's full attention and dedication. It is not intended for those who are described as flighty, fickle or often change their minds. Power is guaranteed, and as such, responsible individuals that give back to the Empire is also guaranteed, lest the inquisitor's aid be called upon to appropriately deal with reckless and rogue individuals of ill repute.

 

• Applicants should be 10 or older; and of Horen descent.
• The applicant must not have other masters or tutors of the Arcane, nor other jobs save for approved governmental positions such as working within the Imperial Guard. Further teachers can be found for approved subjects, throughout the duration of their apprenticeship on request.
• Applicants cannot be the sole heir or primary inheritor of a noble family of count or higher in status.
• Applicants under the age of twenty must have written permission from their parents, guardians or an officer of the Imperial Guard to participate in this apprenticeship.
• Applicants of twenty or older must have two written references from former employers, colleagues, tutors or otherwise sufficiently responsible citizens of the Empire.
• The Magus you shall apprentice under is officially regarded as Elvish. You must be comfortable with this.

Ⅱ. RESPONSIBILITIES

 

THE FOLLOWING RESPONSIBILITIES ARE WHAT THE APPLICANT CAN EXPECT TO DO ON A DAILY OR FREQUENT BASIS. The responsibilities of the apprentice are exceedingly high and demanding. Whiners and wastrels need not apply.

 

NO PRIOR KNOWLEDGE OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED, ALL DUTIES SHALL BE TAUGHT TO AN ACCEPTABLE STANDARD, 

• Laboratory, Artificing, Enchantment and Alchemical assistant.
• Capable of working with animals.
• Steward duties; writing letters, buying and selling equipment and reagents, serving drinks or food where necessary and handling household/estate tasks.
• Security duties; protecting the Magus and their property.
• Nobility liaison; handling a facilitation of communication between the Magus and the aristocracy/nobility, answering questions and maintaining a social presence on behalf of the Magus. Announcing the arrival and title of the Magus at formal settings.
• Performing Imperial duties set by the Magus on behalf of the Empire.
• Attend a prominent school within the Empire until an adequate level of knowledge has been acquired.

Ⅲ. APPLICANT RECEIVES

 

AT LEAST TWO FIELDS OF ARCANE STUDY, This is a privilege and provided that you succeed in an interview with his Imperial Highness you shall be permitted to utilize these outside of a controlled setting. At least two fields of study shall be provided, up to a maximum of four, with the opportunity to be introduced to peers of the Magus who can teach one more. Complete with adequate combat training, artificing knowledge, statecraft capability and laboratory methodology.

 

AN IMPERIAL POSITION,  above an entry level station, with all the capabilities and knowledge to apply for any future position whether dependent on combat, crafting or administrative qualities.
