A Bloodied Mane [PK]

It was the 9th of The First Seed, S.A. 251.

A bloodied form lay sitting next to a grave, listening to the water run nearby him, and the beautiful birds chirping as his life faded away. The form was a Kha'Leonis, with a black and yellow mane. Though, that mane was soaked in red. As were his hands, and most of all, his chest. It was covered in slashes and cuts.

The Kha' hadn't bothered trying to find a doctor. He knew he had lost too much blood, and he knew he wouldn't make it far enough. Instead, he began going up a mountain. He climbed to the grave he now sat beside. It was his father's. He had built that grave, stone by stone, the day before. It was sort of ironic, that he died where he did.

Ronan Mons de Alencar-Vuiller built his own grave, where forever he lay.

The figure kneeled with difficulty beside the butchered corpse of the Kha that had been a childhood friend. An armored hand reached out hovering above the expressionless face to feel for signs of life or soul, unblinking gaze settling on the wounds which made his end.

The hand fell away when attention shifted to the marked grave Ronan created. Talisman nodded slowly to themselves steadying their focus to Ronan once more. Though, he could not hear, three souls resonated separately their own parting words on that lonely hill. "Rest knowing you will not be forgotten." - "We will see each other again." - "All come to know Altrun Zu'brikas."

By hand, Talisman dug the grave well into the late evening beside the memorial of his father. They found the wooden cross Roran created abandoned in taller grass, plunging it into the dirt behind the hole. With preparation made, Talisman sought the body of Ronan and as one warrior to another; laid him to rest.

Yet, something nagged at Talisman to search around for clues. Eventually, after searching through tall grass, they plucked the sword from the foliage. They tied it to their left hip beside the Pursuer's Warhammer; now a token of the Kha's past. Now, to be carried on in their march.

Silently, they guarded the two mounds of dirt through the night. By dawn, the sword and its new holder had disappeared into the wilderness of Kalldur leaving another piece of the past behind them. For now.

Spoiler

Poor Ronan. Talisman always had high hopes in him.

Thank you Senti for the amazing adventures they had!

Somewhere, a confused, 40-year-old woman sat aboard a ship, set sail for new lands. She had not made it out on her family's ship, nor any familiar to her. She had been separated, not that she knew. It was uncertain if she would ever learn of her nephew's death. It was uncertain if she would ever remember him at all. Perhaps a blessing should her old life ever catch up to her. Diolinda may never know again what she had lost.

In a distant afterlife, Mons Avarson relieved many memories. Of his friends, his journeys, his children - least of all his youngest son, that rambuctious kha who he'd spent the last years of his life chasing after or scolding down from the rooftops. Were Mons able to see the boy grow, surely he'd have found pride in the man he'd become... alas, Mons would remain waiting, forever, futilely, for his son to join him.

Ronan was such a great character! Thanks so much for playing my kid, I know we didn't get a ton of time together but I enjoyed every second of it. Even if you're my number one opp...

Ulisses de Alencar simply looked to the vast sea that spread across the horizon, feeling something off...

His heart quivered, tightening against his own ribcage; it could've been the anxiety from the unknown but it wasn't really that.

He missed his family, what he had called home...his adoptive brother...and he wept.

With one hand over his burning chest, he wept like a child, his tears falling down the boat and mixing with the imense sea waters.

He probably would never know what happened to his dear brother, but his heart definetly felt uneasy...
