This short codex will serve as a set of guidelines and laws for whomever serves as the Lord or Lady Paramount of Viru. These guidelines, should they be broken, may serve as grounds for removal of the Paramount by the Council.

Executive Powers-

The Lord or Lady Paramount may not:

  • Use their executive powers for personal gain.
  • Use their executive powers for political gain.
  • Or use their executive powers for the gain of friends, allies, family, etc.

Betrayal of the People-

Should the Lord or Lady Paramount act in a way that is detrimental to the people of Viru, for whatever reason that may be stated, the Lord or Lady Paramount may be held responsible by the Council. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Improper usage of funds inside the treasury.
  • Improper persuasion of other Council members' duties.
  • Favoritism of citizens and the application of laws to them.
  • Over-indulgent requests of the people or using their power to persuade a citizen to do something they otherwise would not.

Betrayal of the State-

This section is for violations of conduct in international matters, such as conduct with the other vassals or their greater entities, such as the Empire of Man or Idunia. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Intentional attempts to create a war between two entities.
  • Intentional misconduct to throw Viru or its liege-lords into war.
  • Espionage.
  • General misconduct that could cause repercussions for the people and state of Viru.

Should the Lord or Lady Paramount be accused of any of these offenses, the Council holds the right to sentence them to trial. Should they be found guilty, the Council then holds the right to remove them. In the absence of a suitable heir to the position of Lord or Lady Paramount, an acting Lord or Lady may be elected from someone within Council with a majority vote.

In cases of emergency, the Council holds the right to temporarily remove the Lord or Lady Paramount and restrict their powers until a hearing can be had.
