The Round World Experiment

by Soxton Boomstitch

Introduction

It is believed in general scholarly consensus that the world is a “coin”, flat with two sides. However, I find myself challenging this notion, as the world is, in reality, round since vision ends at the horizon and not a continuous plane. The understanding of the world’s topography as flat comes from what is assumed as outdated information that no one seems to remember the origin of. This is concerning and beckons a proof that the world is round.

Methodology

To achieve a result, I have devised an experiment. There will be three 3.5 foot wide by 3.2 door tall wooden boards, with two of these boards having 5-inch diameter holes cut at 2 feet at the center from the bottom. On a flat area, the hole less board is placed 105 feet away from my position. The two other boards with holes will be placed equidistant between us (26 ft and 79 ft). I will then cast a shifting spell with the school of translocation. This spell requires a clear line of sight to the target. Should I be unable to shift to the hole less board, this proves the world is flat and should I shift to the hole less board (which is statistically impossible), then the world is flat.

Results

I shifted through the two holed boards to the hole less board multiple times with the multiple repetitions of the experiment. There must be something wrong, as this should be impossible. I then lifted myself on my toes and then shifted, which resulted in stopping at the second of the holed boards. Further testing is required.

Adonael, in the middle of the Petran square, was enjoying his morning cup of coffee. Reading the local newspaper when one special article catches his eyes. He guffaws. He spills his drink all over himself. He stands up and rushes home, finding his wife - To which he extends the paper(notably on the wrong article, one about lye-less soap), and exclaims aloud...

"This guy is a LUNATIC! The world is FLAT! On a side note, have you ever noticed how pregnancy is nine months, but a whole year is only seven?"

[!] A paper will release soon on why the idea of "Saint's Days" is silly and why the timeframe makes no logical sense.

Spuds sipped on a delightful than-a-tonic punch (only available through order)  as he read the scientific report as he set the paper down and applauded it “Bravo my beverage rival. I was not aware you were a genius too. I was not familiar with your game it seems.”

A bewildered Irulan retreated into the back of her chair as her husband burst in spouting his madness. In her befuddlement, even she had some measure of wisdom this morning. ".. Of course it is- wizards spouting nonsense are the reason the rest of us end up burned at the s- wait, what?"

Cardinal-Emeritus Nerium had observed the experiment, and felt freshly invigorated to question everything beneath the sulfur sun. He stood atop his tower in Alduun, finger in the air and bemoistened with saliva, gauging the temperature. After a moment, he recorded the result in a small notebook. Upon the page were various notes and scribblings all pointing to one hypothesis... The four seasons occurred not every Saint's Week.. But every Saint's YEAR. In fact, approximately every thirteen "years" a new season began, depending somewhat on the climate. This pointed toward an ultimate conclusion. There is only one True Year, and the seasons last for ages.
