The Ugliest Smith’s Testament (PK)

Introduction

As soon as I was born, I was hated by my peers, by priests and by the monks. In a dark and horror-filled world, I was the worst of creatures : A half-orc, half human. Half ugly, half weak.

 

I would've much rather been a handsome elf with magical powers, a noble with endless titles or even an imposing undead knight that commands fear and respect, like everyone else.

 

My Message

Instead my deformed body only brought me daily suffering, and I ended up hiding away, isolating myself. I spent my time doing what ugly people do: becoming an academic and artistic master.

After many miserable decades, I ended up surprising myself, becoming very rich, by forging the finest weapons in the North, though they were often considered strange and wacky; hence undesirable.

 

Indeed, we would never, in the middle of the town square, build a statue in effigy of an incredibly witty, modest and truly noble soul, if its shell was just incredibly unpleasant and uncomfortable to look at everyday.

So despite the incomparable quality of my steel, me and my shop were quickly set aside and forgotten.

 

Conclusion

As you can notice, it’s with bitterness (and with a bit of anticipation) that I finally leave this world for good.

 

Since I’ve never had any family, any romantic interest whatsoever, and since all the orphans are scared of me, my cursed legacy will be buried with me. 

I therefore bequeath all that’s left of me, my noble weapons, to my true descendants; those who dare to wear them proudly and who will fight for this cause that has defeated me.
