As a fellow old head from Aegis who fought the hordes of mobs thrown against us in Snowyfields and Alstion, with absolute relish - I wish you the very best of luck in whatever you decide to do next...but I would be remiss if I didn't mention that I feel a genuine pang of anger and embarrassment, at a lot of what you wrote.

It is a shame that you felt ignored on what I would suggest are unique and good ideas, and its a shame you were promised compensation and then not given any...but being entirely honest I think the culmination of all of these things meaning you losing your interest in the typing simulator is probably the most and biggest shame of it all.

Losing talented and gifted people like yourself, or throwing them to one side once they've done what was needed or asked of them (helping to form and create our newest map), should never be the goal.

I am so, so sorry.

I agree with many points in this post: Minas from voting are such a stupid way of stimulating the economy. People don’t interact with the world as if it’s got the game systems it can use… They interact with it as if it’s a 3d tilemap to do their Roleplay on.

And, that’s not a bad thing! I started out doing my minecraft roleplay on plotme servers in 2011. We’d just build a town and start playing. All of us in creative, no real narrative. Just plodding along having fun with friends.

When I went on extended hiatus from minecraft roleplay in general though, before I joined this server, I saw what potential having some sort of game systems in your roleplay can be. Mainly: it just makes it a lot more fun in the downtime.

Not to mention, the fact that I was promised compensation for my attempt at painting 9.0, and was never compensated for 10.0 for the paint and map-making process I brought to the table that resulted in the current map.

yikes

Thank you for the work you have put into the new map! I know I've had some issues with some of your old head mentality in certain regards, though all in all thought you a good member of the staff team. Good luck on future endeavours

Hey, I recall asking you about compensation during map development and thought you turned it down, if I am misremembering shoot me a DM and we can discuss with Tythus, as we have always been happy to pay our world painters.

I'm sad to see you go, thank you so much for the work you put into this map, it is truly the best designed one we've ever had.

You always had a cool head and what few conversations I've seen you participate in, you've been very reasonable. Sad to see you go.

You painted the world in color and stone.
You tried to make it breathe.
They turned it into paperwork
and called it “make-believe.”

Shame to see you go, always remember seeing you grinding away on map development. Shame things couldn't have been different, I really thought they might have been when World Developers came along, but it just got memed into oblivion for trying to change things, bogged down with bureaucracy. I admire your endurance for sticking around as long as you have in such a position, lord knows I couldn't do it, most couldn't. Regret I never got to know you more, but I wish you all the best in life, friend, god bless 🙏
