The 'Blessed' Children of IxrisCreation

Spoiler

Creation

A devil can only be born as such. That is to say, pre-existing characters can never be turned into devils. It is not a ‘change’ but an origin, determined before the character’s birth and tracked by a feat application (FA).

Creation
The historically understood origin of these cursed descendants, wrought by a mark inflicted onto the parent-to-be of a devil by a false prince or greater inferis (ST event characters). The skin colour of those borne of said curse will always reflect the malflame colour of the naztherak or inferis that administered it.

-In the magical creation of a devil, the naztherak or event character responsible must be listed as ‘teacher’ in the devil’s FA, ratified by a comment from the naztherak linking their MA or an ST ratifying their consent respectively.
-This can only be achieved in accordance with any prerequisites specified in naztherak lore or other hypothetical pieces that add this ability. In the event that naztherak (or other) is shelved as a player magic, or rewritten without the ability to create devils specified, magical creation of new devils becomes impossible.
- Upon disconnection from Naztherak, no Cursed-Children apps can be made in regards to offspring born from the character, or bane stated as the result of said character.

- A connected Naztherak will only conceive a Cursed Child once in their life every [3] OOC months. This is to prevent the Feat being abused and widespread. This is tracked via the Naztherak's active MA. A Naztherak may not choose to not sire a Cursed Child. If a Naztherak is eligible to pass on the curse, they will.

- Should multiple children be sired at once, such as in the case of twins or triplets, only the eldest will be born a Cursed Child.

- A connected Naztherak will only conceive a Cursed Child when they have reached Tier 3. At Tier 3, the Naztherak's soul is corrupted enough that the blight passes on to their children, and additionally, it is when the Naztherak receives the ingrained knowledge to perform the ritual that allows the creation of Cursed Children.

Reason

Spoiler

The prior "Naztherak Tea-Drinker Amendment" that introduced a limiter on a Naztherak's cursed bloodline, while coming from an important place, was made as a quick solution to a problem of the oversaturation of Cursed Children. This amendment looks to take a more careful look and careful change to the problem.

  • One of the main themes of Naztherak is the selfish climb for power. Where Necromancy is a steep cliff into darkness, and Mysticism is a foul tool one can try to (though not truly succeed) in using for "good", Naztherak is a slow but all-consuming descent into corruption. Naztherak bearing cursed children is important in serving this. Becoming a Warlock does not just hurt you, it hurts your descendants, and those you love. For a Naztherak to live on with a "normal life", it means that they will need to hide or dispose of their cursed kin.
  • Having a cooldown gives cool narrative paths. For a child born cursed, they will be the black sheep of the family. A Naztherak can choose to brush them aside, hide them, or make up lies about adoption. But at the end of the day, it makes them more of a black sheep among their family.
  • Finally, it gives a simple solution to the question: "What if my cursed child sucks?" The argument can be made that yes, a Naztherak can still willfully curse children, but narratively it is far different for a Cursed Child to be made because their parent is negligently selfish, versus the Nazthruka ritual requiring a parent to be intentionally malicious.

Truthfully, Cursed Children do need a rewrite or makeover of some kind, due to the weird spot they are in between "tiefling FA" and "bloodline curse," and the incompatibility between those ideas. While this amendment is a band-aid fix to dial back another band-aid fix, it is with the interest of servicing the latter idea. Bearing Cursed Children is not a privilege, it is a curse, and it should be treated as such.

Naztherak: Boons & Banes - Banes

Spoiler

Infernal Mutation (zevirlat thaznitnak)
The individual is cursed to sire or bear children with demonic mutations, akin to the Naztherak’s own. The nails may be long and black or absent entirely, their teeth elongated and twisted, their nose resemble a bat-like snout, they may grow twisted horns, cloven feet, hairy palms, beastial eyes and similar abominable traits.

See the following lore for more information: [World Lore+ Feat] The 'Blessed' Children of Ixris Ra'liivengor Kreika | The 'Blessed' Ones

Redlines:

- Any children sired to one bearing this bane will bear the malflame coloration of the Naztherak that their parent received the curse from.
- Mutations may mimic those of the Naztherak who created the bane, or players may come up with their own.

- This bane affects both men and women, not just those who are capable of pregnancy.
- These mutations may not be attractive, and must be unsettling or ugly.
- The character born is a cursed child, otherwise known as a “Blessed One"

- This bane follows all redlines of The 'Blessed' Children of Ixris as though the bearer is a Naztherak. That is, they will have the same uncontrollable [3] OOC month cooldown a T3 Naztherak would.

- A Naztherak may not be given this bane.

Reason

Spoiler
  • Reference changed to the actual name of the lore post, with a link to it, for ease of navigation
  • Malflame coloration redline added as a minor clarification
  • Removed the redline regarding the "attractiveness" of the cursed descendants due to redundancy. Blessed Children lore takes precedence, so in effect the redline doesn't actually do anything. I do think Cursed Children should look distinctly weird and alien, but those are amendments that should be made to the appropriate lore piece. (I also think ruling "attractiveness" is gross in general.)
  • Above all, this amendment is meant to provide parity with the new redlines for Naztherak children, and prevent it from being a loophole to mass-produce Blessed Children without any cooldown or limitations.

This feels eeeeeeeeh.

by this point, CC just feels like a battleground of CC players vs naz who hate the idea some CCs might not be doing Solomonic demon worship RP. These changes just return the problem to a 3 month cycle.

You somehow managed to turn my amendment, which was not the best, into something worse.

Like Prim said, it's just 'eh'. It's not needed. CCs are not an integral part of Naztherak. Want more? Get the ritual when you get T3 and curse babies. The actual 'curse' that is meant to be widespread and that the Zar'rokul WANT to see widespread is naztherak itself, not random children.

ehh as a cursed child player not gonna sugar coat it, I think you may need a bit more time to work on your idea. I'm having a hard time seeing how this is much different from what already exists. I do applaud you for trying as I too believe that the cursed child CA needs an UPDATE but I don't think what is presented so far is it.
Keep at it.

I think that LT should punish people who don't RP their racial curses. 3 month timer makes Cursed Child creation the same as Azdrazi. The two are not even nearly similar in power scale. It does not warrant the timer.

Excess cursed children could have been purged through policies enforcing the Racial Curse Lore, and I think we should return to that method of enforcement. Arbitrarily limiting the number of kids due to bad faith actors just means that people will find a new way to circumnavigate it (having each Naztherak they connect produce 1 for a private army).

I also think the clause in general regarding the appearance of Cursed Children is not good. Whether a character is perceived as handsome or ugly is largely in the eye of the beholder. That being said, Cursed Children should not appear humanoid, and should overwhelmingly be viewed as "abnormal" or "ugly with comparison" to ordinary people's preferences.

Just my 2 cents.

CC itself is in no more need of changes or nothing that an amendment can fix, this does not strike as anything that needs fixing in the first place, more of creating solutions for problems that dont exist

In my opinion CC needs an overhaul in general

if people want to remove the alternate CC creation rite there should be another way to make them that isnt either getting your own character pregnant or finding another pregnant character to do so. the modern cursing rite was added so those who don't enjoy interacting with pregnancy or childbearing themes have an alternate means of creating CC if the former isn't something they want to engage with

This redline has already existed in CC lore; naz create cc ritual supercedes this I don't think azure added the redline in question [Current naz came out in April 2023, CC came out November 2022]

This lore has been denied.

This went to an internal vote and did not pass.
