From a quaint home in the countryside, an old man is told the news. Gnarled fingers rap against the little table that works up his makeshift study. "So, the Church shall fall once more. I expected it, but not in my lifetime." he says to his caretaker. "Keep your wits about you, and follow the norms. Bernard the Second will fall, surely. The Church shall become a puppet once again. Cheers will be heard from the Imperial heart and all the way out to our own homeland." he says, turning in his seat and to face his great-nephew. "But others like us shall harbor similar resentment. The Church may have helped create these monsters, but they may very well help bring them down to repent for its former sins. We must pray that GOD sends the right men to the right places."

 

The feeble man turned back to his stack of papers, then, and sighed. "I'll see if I can get to some harder work on the morrow."

The Uncaring stared 'pon another measly desperate grasp for war. It was not hers to worry for, the Lion's gaze averted. A comment was shouted through the floorboards of that shared hovel regardless, as, she did enjoy the drama.
