IMPERIAL DECREE | On the Mori-Folk

With the numerous proposals sent to my council to see the Morifolk eradicated, and the long contentious debates to follow their rights and entitlements, I have opted to write this statement to make standard the known facts of their existence within our most Holy Imperium.

 

Although it is known that those of the spider-ilk had once conquered our lands, killed our people, and razed our settlements within the continent of Almaris, and for this, they should be punished gravely–it simply cannot be allowed. 

 

I cannot justify breaking a deal sworn to the mutual benefit of the Imperium.With a vast exchange in knowledge, gifts of abundant resources, and even soldiers from the clans of the Morifolk after discussion with their Queen, soldiers who fight with us in our war against the urukim and dwed, it is for the benefit of both parties to not slaughter each other on the mainland or in the underworld.

 

However, I will speak plainly to all: the appearance of the Morifolk sickens me; their disgusting chitin; the vast mandibles escaping their mouth; the dotted adjustment of their eyes. For this reason, I cannot justify the actions taken by my vassal. 

 

If my vassals deem the Morifolk to be anathema, such as those of Norland, then that is their jurisdiction – the crimes in Almaris cannot be forgiven, but in truth, I care little to lament on a history I was not present to see. I will not stop my vassals from enforcing their local legislature to ban and kill Morifolk.

 

Beyond this, the Morifolk are safe to tread the roads of the Empire without issue, and to enter the sanctimony of our imperial city. Yet you enter knowing that you have no rights, nor any entitlements. The law is not bound to you; if you shall be slain by a vengeful man who forsakes you within the city, he has committed no crime. My guardsmen will not act against you, but they shall not protect you either. You may not purchase housing, but may purchase stalls to trade as per our mutual agreement. The Morifolk who are granted the Emperor’s writ may find themselves protected and thus in bounds with our law, but this is unlikely to ever happen barring that of your Queen.

 

The Morifolk will be barred from ever gaining territory within the crownlands, and further to this, cannot be granted any titles. The Morifolk cannot hold any position or station within an institution bearing the Emperor’s seal. Any Morifolk who attempts to raise themselves to the same status, if not higher, than a Man shall be executed on sight. Any Morifolk who attempts to remind Man of the events of Almaris shall be executed on sight.

 

If the Morifolk seek to find peace upon the land, you must do so earnestly knowing that the Empire has claimed this continent. Your safety has been ensured by your Queen–it will cease to exist should your Queen decide to break our agreement. 

 

I encourage scholarly exchange and trade between our people, but I cannot encourage disrespect. It has taken every follicle on my head to not kill any non-human, so take this as a blessing. Know well that you must use this time to garner any respect you can from the populace; if our deal is broken, you will be put to the blade.

 

Restraint is offered.

 

Kindness is not.

The peace from (core) Empire comes from a roleplay event agreement with the Mori. Further to this, the Mori have just become a playable CA and I believe it would be quite unfun and unfortunate if they were KOS everywhere before they were even provided the opportunity to roleplay. It would restrict them heavily especially if it was declared by the Empire. 

 

This is obviously subject to change based on RP (i.e. if Mori start doing dumb shi) but yeah. Good larps.
