OGUD, VOR HJELP I GYNE ERE,

AFTER HER YEARS OF HEARTBREAK AND LOSS, the MARGRAVATE-EMERITUS CALIOPE COLBORN has passed from natural causes. She is perhaps best known for her position as Artillery Commander for the Horenic Covenant and is survived by her now widowed wife and grandchildren. May she rest in peace in the familial crypts.

SKRALI VOR GUD,

Spoiler

[!] The following letters would be sent out.

To my Wife,  @Smol

I still remember the day we met… I was a menace in the tavern being rude to people and you were an unassuming young employee of the tavern. It is still quite surprising to me that we turned out the way we did. Thank you for giving me a life I felt was not ever going to be mine, for loving me and cherishing me. It hurts to know that I may pass before you, but it would hurt more to outlive you. Please take care of the d’Arkents and our grandchildren. To you I leave my rings to bury me with.

Lovingly,

The Moon to your Stars.

To Aegir, @HogoBojo

Though we never knew much each other, your fathers did speak of you as doing well in your studies. While perhaps I should have been more active in your lives, I want to leave you with this: No matter the corner you are backed into, fight for your family. If it is one thing the Colborns know, it is family, never fail it. To you I leave the spear and shield that I only took up to protect this family.

Lovingly,

Grandma

To Sylfrid, @herodium

Much like your siblings, I didn’t sadly spend much time with you. However your father did speak much of you, in fact I am somewhat certain that you are at least my son’s favourite. I have heard good things, things that make me feel quite proud of the women of this family, to you I leave the Ryfleband that your Grandma gave me… albeit a bit late.

Lovingly,

Grandma

To Davyd, @JuliusAakerlund

If you have outlived me, I must congratulate you. I was getting very old towards the end… perhaps finding a new wife has sprung life into you that I myself couldn’t find. Nonetheless I thank you for how welcome you made me feel in this family, you are a good man with a good heart, something I find rare.

Lovingly,

Caliope.

To Peter, @Lalosia

While leading a family like ours may be hard, please remember the spirit of your grandmother, my mother. She was the most tenacious and frankly badass woman to live, all while maintaining dignity and grace, it may seem hard to live up to, God knows I tried, but it is in our blood. Never forget where you come from.

Lovingly,

Caliope

Spoiler

It seems a fitting time for Caliope to go. While I loved her in her youth, a handful of things made her unenjoyable to play. She was a great character and I have the following people to thank for their aid in that.

Cheese1sgrater, lalosia, chronicsss, asmodeusjinx, fireagn, smolbean, kaisaurusrex, seussophobia, julius55 and probably more I’m forgetting

For the past several decades, the departed Duchess of Sunholdt had welcomed her children to the Skies, one by one. It was little secret how close she held Caliope in life, so when her daughter finally arrived, she was greeted with her Mother’s tight embrace. “Oh, how I’ve missed you my sweet, beautiful girl.” Even in both their older ages, Esfir and Caliope both looked younger now. Just as they might’ve many years ago in Portoregne, when neither of them were burdened by greatness or the grief of war and loss.

Here, they could at last return to just being mother and daughter.
