And yet Relad had not gotten the news, yet.

How strange, to not see her for these few days. Still, she had come back from the impossible before, and she was a grown woman. Surely, she was just out.

Why, he would tear apart the world if anything happened to her. Surely the gods would never be so terribly cruel.

Mmm.

A shame the world is cruel, anyway. When he does notice, there can only be the hope that his community will be a support to the ailment of the mind to follow.

The Chimera marches on, almost unaware of the pain he had caused onto others. After all, does a man worry about an ant he steps upon?

"I do need to speak to you soon. When you've the chance. But just in case. Know I love you, friend. Very dearly."

- Revekka Orison

Justinian had reread the simple piece of paper countless times in the past few days, Revekka's writing becoming increasingly illegible as tears let the ink run free. This time he was reading it by the fire in Solgaard as the evening grew long, just like that evening at the tavern which was still so painfully recent. The village had grown lonesome without Revekka, Relad and the others around, but for now that was what he needed.

Nothing besides him and the dying fire in front of him, its crackle and glow a pale imitation the fire that engulfed her.

Nothing besides him and the crashing waves upon the shore, the noise a faint reminder of them falling and colliding with stone.

Nothing besides him and the call of the gulls, their cries piercing the air like hers had.

He stood, and headed back to his home, leaving the oppressive silence behind.

"How would he tell the others?" Justinian thought to himself as he opened the door to the home he had built above theirs.

"How would Relad react?"  His thoughts began to wander as he passed the table where him and Revekka had shared so many evenings; talking, laughing, crying.

"How would he honour her? " He asked himself as he climbed up to his study and began drafting a letter to his friend, to her brother.

His mind thought back to the oath he had sworn to Vitharr that evening, with none but Revekka's corpse as witness. It was one he had sworn in grief and anger, but one he would keep till his dying day.

Justinian exited his house again a short while later, as the first hint of dawn was beginning to creep over the cliffs behind him. He collected Lancaster from a stable, stuffing the letter to Relad in a saddlebag and securing the scarred warhammer on the other side.

As he rode up the steep cliff path towards the aviary, he took in the village again, and the memories he had shared with his friend there. Finally, he craned his neck to gaze up at the stars, hoping to spot a new light amongst them.

There it shone, as full of hope and grace as she had been.

I'm going to miss the fun and chaos Justinian and Revekka had together, some of my favourite moments on this server have been with her.

Also don't worry I'll hide in your next character's walls, I'll make sure of that. (:

A King in the floors above the tavern, the reason that Chimera has made such an obstacle, had fought with a proud man above as the others had suffered below.

They knew the words well, muffled through the floorboards as their own fight caused clatter above. Pain, terror, grief. The cries of loss. Perhaps if it was not so focused it would have gloated. But its quarry was more important than the death of one it did not know.

Beautiful writing, wonderful CRP, I hope your break brings you much fulfillment and good rest

After finding out Revekka had passed. a certain high elf froze in place.
She had known loss before.
It had never once been easier.
"No..."

A whisper, barely there.
the realiszation came slowly, cruelly, like her mind refused to let it settle all at once. She stood there, unmoving, as it sank in piece by piece.
The first tear fell. Then another.
Her breathing hitched.
The world around her dulled, sound fading into nothing as her ehart began to pound, louder and louder in her ears.

"No!!"

The scream tore out of her before she could stop it.
She ran.
She didnt remember the path, didnt feel her legs carry her, only that she was suddnely there, at the orphanage.
her hands slammed against the door in desperate plea.
"Revekka!!"
Silence.
She hit the door again. Harder.
Nothing
Panic twisted sharp in her chest as she forced her way inside, searching, calling, desperate for anything, any sign, any answer.
But there was nothing.
No voice, No movement. No her.
"Why?..." her voice broke, cracking apart "No.. i... come back... please?..."
The words fell uselessly into the empty space.
And still, Nothing answered.

She didnt remember leaveing. didnt remember walking home.
Only that somepoint, something small wrapped itself around her leg.
Siofra stilled, and slowly she looked down.
Her son.
And just like that, everything gave way.
She dropped, pulling him into her arms, holding him tightly as if he might disappear too. The child didnt understand, only clinging back, grounding her into something real.
Her breaths came uneven, shaking.

"Thank you," she murmured weakly, voice breaking again "For being my friend.."
Her eyes closed, tears slipped freely now.
memories came in fragments.
Shared laughter, quiet talks, the orphanage.
the way they had both cared so deeply, so passionatly.
"it.. has been my honour..."
Her head dipped against her sons shoulder as her body shook qither quiet, restrained sobs.

"I just... I wish i had said it sooner..."

Eistalyn sailed the seas, glossing over the glittering oceans in her boat built from the shore where Solgaard once harboured their lands. Her oars seized in their movement. Suddenly the air felt heavy. . . A churning sensation mingled in her stomach as she cast her eyes towards the North. She turn her attention to a singular seagull with a ailed wing wrapped  "Maybe we should return inland once more?

Each morning since, Ivy leaves a small herbal cutting on the windowsill. Always in the same spot. When it withers, she would replace it.
