[Amendment] ALCOHOLIC WEREWOLVES

You read the title.

 

Purpose:

I think it would be interesting for characters cursed with Lycanthropy to have another option to try and cope with their condition, in the form of hard drugs and alcohol. This will still primarily have negative effects on a character, and would be an unhealthy method of relieving stress.

INTOXICATION: A lycan in their descendant form will find that most intoxicants, such as alcohol, or illicit substances, will do nothing to rile them into a euphoric state. They will remain sober.  will not be nearly as effective as they once were. While there's some minor mental reprieve from intoxication, a lycan would find all adverse effects of substances heightened.

 

♛ A lycan in their descendant form is no longer able to be intoxicated. Alcohol will taste the same, but it will not get them drunk, and drugs will no longer work on them either. intoxicated as easily, and all 'positive' effects of substances will be greatly reduced. However, medication and herbs to battle illnesses still remain effective.

I would just flat out remove this instead of amending it because it doesn't really add anything to the lore imo.

I personally just think this variation is a bit too mild to even be worth mentioning in the lore. Even full immunity to intoxication is somewhat borderline on how necessary it is to specify.

My (very limited) understanding of lycanthropy is that the RP aesthetic involves a large element of loss of control, whether over the physicality of the curse or the mental effects that come with it. I think this ammendment would match that theme quite well AND create an interesting RP dynamic - in turning to substances in an attempt to regain some of that lost control, rather than it simply having no effect, they are inversely rewarded by losing even more control via intense adverse effects. Plus, those increased adversed effects also feed into the aggression and instability of the CA. So +1 from me (a humble non-lycan-player)

 

You might want to add a redline about not being able to powergame knowing if someone is a lycan based off of their reaction to substances, though.
