Tk4522's 5 years of LotC AMA

When I first made my application in 2021, I could never have imagined that I would still be here 5 years later. 5 thousand hours plus split between three consistent personas and a handful of one offs that didn’t live more than a few months. Sure I’ve had my ups and downs as with anything, though with LotC I’d say it averages out to time well spent.

Over the years I’ve made a few friends, though I have mostly tried to keep my distance as a way of avoiding drama. With this being said, I do feel obligated to make a post where people can ask me what they will. Though before we get too deep in the weeds, I feel it is pertinent to provide some information about myself and lay out some ground rules.

For the rules:

1.      I will not answer questions regarding politics. (unless its IRP related)

2.      I’d prefer not to reveal persona details.

3.      I will not give details about ongoing quests or situations that could be metagamed.

With that out of the way, some information about me. I prefer to go by Tk, though on steam I use Dope Bob Weed Pants as my gamer tag.  Other than Minecraft, I play mostly single player games. Currently I am 93% on my first file of Mewgenics, working to suck less at the Binding of Isaac and I’ve been meaning to play the Cult of the Lamb dlc. In the past, I was massively into Team Fortress 2 though I have not touched it in some time due to lack of meaningful new content. Spy cosplay coming soon by the way, though I don’t know if I’ll be posting that anywhere here.

With all that out of the way ask your questions, I will answer in the fullness of time.

A special thank you to the staff, mods, tech, story and community.

The sever would not be the same without your dedication.

What has been your favorite periods of orc roleplay? Favorite events? Favorite rex? Favorite shaman(s)/parts of the magic?

My favorite period has to be the age of fire / Iron Ugz. A lot of good rp and events came out of that time. I still remember fondly when Suianpoly was attacked by the spawn of Fregoth (centaurs, goatmen and alike). That and when we removed the burned trees by hand.

As for my favorite events, I defiantly have to put the sorcerer's comet at the top of the list if we are talking general events. If your asking about orc specific, the opening of the gate of Dom had one of my favorite implementations of shaman magic when the party of orcs ventured beneath. The attack of the molten spitters also holds a special place in my heart.

For favorite Rex, I have to go with my boy Ar Borok the blood Rex. Drunk played a great leader and I still remember Borok's heroic sacrifice during the Mori siege of San Veilku.

I have a few favorite shamans. Leyd inspired me into writing spirit walks, their Ghazigash walk that turned Emony's skin red is the gold standard I still hold my walks to. Drunk Papa bear's improvisational skills still impress me to this day. I'm the kind of person that needs to meticulously plan out my walks. Though these days I find myself running walks for Akezo and Scorthus over and over again. Sure they are well written enough, but I can't wait for other spirits to become viable  or for someone to pact with Ogrol. I do have to give you credit where its due Pana. Summoning a elemental during the Petra scouting mission last map was exceptionally cool.

In spite of some of my pervious paragraph, my favorite aspect of shamanism is writing and preparing spirit walks. Yes, I am tired of running Scorthus and Akezo, but its always fun to shove a puzzle into the spirit walk. I ran one for Laklul where the puzzle was to "defeat his mortal enemy" (there was a tree that represented Fregoth that had to be destroyed).

There are a few things I want to get more into though. First and foremost being the creation of Marts. Though there is a lot I don't understand.

With how much I'd play her I suspect people would expect me to answer Ukukaal / Emony. Yes, I have close to 3,000 hours on her but she isn't my favorite. Uku's father, Brawly Scath has the honor of being my favorite persona. He attended more events, had better romance rp, and had one of the best endings I'v ever written.

What about the server keeps you logging in every week? If you were to give one piece of advice to a new player, what would it be?

Also, goblin or uruk?

The single aspect that keeps me logging on every day of the week is my interest to see here the collective story is going and seeing how I can play my role in this. Sometimes it means being a mentor for another persona, others conflict, others still resolving conflict.

If I were to give advice to a new player there are several things I would say. Number one on the list is "be a wholesome bean". To dissect this statement, I mean don't start petty ooc conflict, no ooc drama that sort of thing. Overall, I'd say to find "your people".

I'd say your better off with goblin for most rp scenarios. Go uruk if you want to do some CRP.

As in theater production? I saw a play in New York entitled "Something Rotten." It was a riot

In truth, I don't watch a lot of musical media.

I do listen to a fair bit of music though. My spotify is not hard to find.
