"Positioned in a rear position when the ambush began, Meyer and other members of his unit disobeyed orders to remain in place and used a Humvee to rush into the kill zone to try and rescue the four trapped at the head of their column." EDIT: ((extreme devotion to duty doesn't always mean to follow orders. Extreme devotion to duty is to try to do your duty no matter what. As in the above story, the marine followed the doctrine of "leave no man behind", which showed his devotion to duty.))
