I like to believe I do. I make no claims at being an advanced writer, but I speak in complete sentences and use correct punctuation. Oh! I don't care for the Oxford Comma, I don't use it, I don't like it and I was never brought up to use them.

-Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

I'm not sure what to put here...I'm an art student who enjoys webcomics, graphic arts and computer games. I am also a cg tech enthusiast that is often as immersed in how a movie or game is made as I am in watching or playing it. I hope to run my own media studio/media production firm some day.

-How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

0-5 hours a week. I may be absent for a couple weeks at a time because I cannot devote any more time to a game.

-How long have you played minecraft?:

1 year (Started during the Free Weekend).

-What do you know about roleplaying? How long have you been doing it? What kind?:

I used to rp a couple characters in a text-based rp MUSH in a Firefly-Whedon-based universe (for about 2.5 years about 5 years ago). I understand that this kind of rp requires as much wisdom as it does imagination. Everything I do and say must be IC. Other than this I have experienced many other mainstream rpgs ranging from Guild Wars to Mass Effect.

-What do you expect this server will be like?:

Fascinating. I've been wanting to try out Minecraft with a little more <i>structure</i>. I am bored with just building stuff to outwit spiders and creepers...I'd like some more gameplay with real people, please. ^_^

-What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

I never truly leave a server, but I've never really joined any large ones. I generally have played some basic survival/creative on some servers my friends keep.

-Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules? What about the lore?:

Yes, and yes.

Human, Elf, Dwarf and Orc (I saw something about Undead in the forums here though - don't worry, I'm not applying for that :P).

-How did you hear about us?:

I searched for an rpg server on google. I've been looking around for a place that was pretty involved and eventually came across The World of Aegis. I tested it out as well as a few others, this one seems the most robust and of interest to me.

Yes.

-What was your favourite Law?:

No griefing. Nothing annoys me more.

-What was your least favourite Law?:

No 1337. Not that I care about that...but does anyone worth a grain of salt still speak that anymore?

-Biography:

Flotty is rather old for someone living in the world of Aegis. A childhood accident left him with one giant eye for most of his face, making eating, speaking, breathing and hearing very difficult. Outcasted and sold to a lone farmer by his peasant family, he was treated worse than a slave for the first decades of his life - until a terrible night took the Man away and left their farm ablaze. Finally free, Flotty travelled the lands seeking out cities with libraries, wisemen who wouldn't turn away in horror and any source of information that would help him mend his face.

Over time he learned how to read, self-taught some potionmaking, and found the ways of the world. Survival wasn't hard; 20 years a slave made the usual odd jobs seem easy and fun - especially if it was for a bite of food to eat and a pile of hay to sleep on. Flotty III soon found himself trading information he learned from his books and handing out advice to those interested. How to plan a better garden, how to build a better hut, how to brew a better beer. He gained a small bit of happiness out of travelling from town to town, spreading his eclectic knowledge.

But then, finally, after years of perusing, he'd reached a point where he just couldn't travel like he used to anymore. Settling down in some community somewhere and offering his collected skills was at the front of his mind more often than not nowadays. But the itch to find those pesky rare ingredients will always push him into joining a passing band for the odd adventure.

-Character Age:

65 (this can be adjusted if too unrealistic)

-Character Appearance:

Normally he appears to be a rather normal, hunched-over, frail-looking old man - with the exception of the giant eyeball. He wears a simple purple and blue travelling robe, complete with hood for rainy days. In his back-satchel he keeps all his basic possessions.

-Character Personality:

Flotty is a rather batty old man who has been tormented his entire life by his own face. Nieve at times, but always willing to help someone out, he enjoys trading small nuggets of knowledge for a bite to eat and will do nearly anything for information leading to Alchemy and/or Potionmaking as well as the location of any rare mushroom.

Personality Quirks/Pet Peeves/etc include:

Incredible interest in information relating to Alchemy, Potionmaking, Chemistry, Natural Forces, Chii, Zen...um, not really the last two.

Forgetful of anything else

Not particularly good with social cues - he's old and not unintelligent, but not wise either.

That doesn't mean he's unawares of his problems, he'll often apologize for putting his mouth in his foot.

Deep hatred for loitering (almost any form of it) and rainy days. (Doesn't enjoy farming, either)

Fear of Elves (just plain frightened of them, won't ever say why/doesn't have a reason) "Elfobia".

-Your ambitions:

To become a great alchemist! (not just a good one) He strives to find a way to make his face back to normal and undo the damage done to it. As such he has spent a great deal of his later life hunting down libraries and entities of ancient wisdom to learn more about the elements. He will ever pursue the complex and strange ingredients required for his potions. Also, he will also enjoy a good, dark ale (especially if he brewed it himself, of course).

-Can your character read or write?:

Flotty has basic reading and writing skills.

-Can your character mine?:

Always up for a good spelunking time! -Provided he has some help with the actual digging part...

-Are you a capable builder?

He can plan out a building, but might need a little help with the physical labors.

-Can you wield a sword?:

Can barely carry one, would rather avoid all instances of battle anyway and watch from the safety of a nearby tree. Archery? No good there either, having one eye.

-Enjoy Farming?:

Define "Enjoy". Flotty will farm if it's necessary, he's good at it, but he'll be grumpy.

-Does your character have any special skills?:]

He's near-sighted, despite what many might think. Other than that he has studied a bit in the ways of chemicals and science, transmutation and whatnot. This self-taught nature may have had some lasting effects on his mental state(s)...

He can also brew a small variety of his own, special beer.

I am obviously building this character after being inspired by the new Potion Brewing additions to MC. So I can only hope he can move in that direction.
