∞ The Story of the Scarring of Thrym ∞

-This story takes place after Thrym's mind was taken to the Gods-

-This story is written as Thrym remembers it. None can be sure if this is what really happened or if something else happened to him-

∞ The Dream ∞

Thrym awoke in a place of light. The smell of fresh grass and flowers were in his nose. As his eyes opened he saw his Uncle Thordon smiling at him. Thrym was shown to a large house in a mountain of gold and lived a life of bliss, a life of happiness. His relatives who had died visited him every day and the ale flowed. He was happy. But, then, one day, he woke up. The dream ended.

∞ The Awakening, A Horrid Truth ∞

As the magic using Ironguts were gathering and placing Thrym's body in a gem they were actually doing something very different. As they placed the body in the gem they actually sent it to Heaven. What happened in Heaven would happen to it. At the same time, he awoke from the dream. The bliss he was living in was fake.

When he awoke he learned many things. First, he realized that the world of the Gods was very similar to ours. There were "nations" of Gods. There were the ones those of Aegis and Asulon worshiped and there were also Gods that ruled over other worlds. All these Nations of Gods were at war. Each had there own army of supernatural soldiers. While the fact that the Gods weren't actually uncontested, not completely all powerful, was shocking the other things Thrym learned were even more so. He found out that the Gods NEED worship to get power and that power is what they use to fight their war. He also learned that the Gods were not what we thought. They were tyrants, taking dead souls and placing them in dream states then controlling the bodies they had in heaven to be slaves or fight as soldiers. The power we gave them through worship allowed them to keep them in the dream and keep them alive in the war. That is why they seem so kind, the appearance of kind, loving Gods attracts more worshipers which gives them more power, but, it is not what they really are. When Thrym awoke and saw all this he refused to help such tyrants who would lie to us and use us in such a way so, they forced him. They started by torturing him. They did so for about 5 years all taking pleasure in the different ways they could cause him pain, ways that will not be described. After the initial torture they forced him to go out and fight among their supernatural soldiers against the Others. Every time he was slain they would revive him but then, they would torture him for failure and torture him more for fun. After that he would go out and fight again. Over the decades he was forced to fight and was tortured in a vicious cycle. Eventually, he became a master swordsman but also began to lose some of the practical skills he had once had.

After years of fighting he realized something else. The Gods aren't able to do as extreme shows of power on their plain of life as they can on ours. They can't see all that happens in their realm. As he realized this, a desperate plan began to take shape in his mind, a plan of escape.

∞ Escape, Forever Scarred ∞

Thrym finally saw his opportunity to escape. In the middle of a battle he was able to slip out and run. He ran and ran and ran and ran. The gods sent their mindless men, stuck in a dream, after him as he ran. HE was forced to cut down those he loved just to stay alive. He cut off the head of Thordon, stabbed his father in the heart, met his mother again, just before he had to kill her.

These things scarred him just as much as the torture but he was hardened by now and he continued to run. One day, he finally found a way out. As he stepped through the portal he found himself in a temple, leaning on an altar his son Hogarth before him and shards of the gem on the ground. He is no longer the same. He is angry, thought to be crazy, maybe he even is a bit but he knew what he had to do, how he could undermine the Gods. He had to rid them of their worship, of their power. His hatred for the Gods is strong, his anger for what they have done to him and countless others. He seems to care no longer but what he is trying to do is save the souls who are in Heaven, and the souls who will end up there. This is the story of his Scarring, the story of his quest of vengeance is still being written.

((Question, would this include the Ancestors and Paragons? Because, technically, neither Paragons or the Ancestors are gods. Merely Dwarves that we have elevated to a higher level.))

((Thrym considers the Paragons as "In" on it and the ancestors as slaves like the rest of the dead souls))

((Likely not. Besides all these are are Thrym's hallucinations from staring into the eyes of God. At least that's the impression I'm getting))

((Erm.....these aren't hallucinations I can tell you that much. Its one of two things. 1 (which I'll be RPing it as): Thrym is correct and 2 (which most of you will probably think <_< ): Thrym had an evil God like Iblees mess with his head))

((Arbrek is, as far as I know, the second oldest dwarf alive. And I would love to help develop this idea. Maybe even help Thrym when I come back))
