:Lore:

The stone. Cold. Hard. Heavy. To the masses, this is how the foundation of Aegis is revered. But the true Mason sees through this veil. The stone is strength. The stone is protection. The stone is life.

The fathers of this world knew the value of the rock. They built this world with a substance able to withstand the test of time. Ancient ruins hold proof of this. Long after our days have passed, the stone will survive to tell our tales. Our battles. Our lives, and our deaths.

Through the centuries the teachings of the Masons has fallen to the wayside and been abandoned by most, but a rare few have continued this belief. Continued to practice the ways of the stone. Their teachings having been preserved in etchings and carvings on tablets in the Shrine of Stone.

Though few now live who remember this, the remaining Masons have a duty to each other, to their ancestors, and to themselves to uphold the foundations of Aegis.

:Beliefs:

The Mason may be a family man, a warrior, or even a humble beggar. But beneath these labels, a Mason is a shaper. One who loves the touch of stone. Loves the weight of a pickaxe. Loves the feeling of a hard days work creating life from the earth itself. Though he may spend his days following orders, or selling trinkets, the thought of stone is who he is. A master with all digging and sculpting tools, the Mason has no trouble helping others with construction needs. No job is too big or too small, as long as the movement of earth is involved.

:How to Join:

The Masonic Brethren are not your typical guild or following. They have no hierarchy, or even a guild house. One cannot simply ask to be a join. To be a member, one must prove they SHOULD be a member. No matter your background; guard, thief, shop keep, or murderer. The need to build can infect anyone.

Requirements:

Mining 50

Blacksmithing 25

The ability to pass a complex set of tests to prove your aptitude at building with stone. Known as "The Forging"

Once an initiate has passed "The Forging", he will be given his Tome, his Title, and his Vestige.

:Once You're a Mason:

After your testing is complete, a short ceremony will occur. You will be afforded the title of Mason. You will receive your personalized Tome of the Masonic Brethren, containing a history of the Masons. You will also be presented with a Vestige of Stone (Golden Pickaxe) to mark your induction into the Brethren.

From this point on, your path is of your own choosing. What you do with this new honor is up to you. From this day forward you are a Mason. A symbol of craftsmanship in the art of stone. Respect your fellow Masons, and use this responsibility wisely.

((My hope is that by implementing this group, people will easily be able to find good builders when they need them. I will keep an active list of members in game as well as on the forums, so when people need a truly skilled builder they know where to look. Entry is open to all races, and backgrounds. There will never be any fees to pay, or requirements of the group once the "Forging" is complete. As with all "clubs" recommending fellow Masons will help build notoriety, respect, and kinship, and in the end be beneficial to all. ))
