CosmicWhaleShark 2488 Share Posted December 14, 2011 To the guards and soldiers who reside in Galahar, My name is Ser William Baldwin of Oren. Recently I have been spending the majority of my time in Galahar when not running errands in Alras or Laurelin. It has come to my attention that though there is indeed a military presence there seems to be almost no order in the fine town of Galahar. We have posts for guards that never seem to be occupied, traps that are being played with in stupidity and never used in times of need and most importantly guards that seem to choose when to do their jobs and when not to. Galahar is going into a downward spiral of crime and violence. The criminals do not fear us as they should, enemies march on our very gates thinking they can overwhelm us. There is corruption in Galahar and it must be stamped out like the smoldering embers of an ignored fire before it spreads and burns the house down on our heads. I think a meeting is long overdue for making guidelines and rules for the guards. Laws that MUST be enforced and harsh punishments and fines for criminals who are captured. As well as plans of actions for our more "bolder" enemies. Men and women. Galahar is the new beacon for the world of humans. Have we not learned our lesson in Al'khazar? Do not let this observation go unnoticed. I do not like the direction we are going in with our new town.
realslimshady 7 Share Posted December 14, 2011 It's practically a guard town if you ask me. A place solely consisting of the guardians of the law is bound to stir up corruption. Every time I walk through there the guards are not doing anything really, and are usually incredibly bunched up. I haven't really seen any "guardlike" duties. I would recommend a trip to Alras if your guards would need training, those people have it right.
Wizard 125 Share Posted December 14, 2011 I agree completely. Perhaps, Ser Braxis will call a meeting. By the way, next time we meet, I will give you your iron armour.
Dat Burkester 101 Share Posted December 14, 2011 We have lately had a meeting with the guards. The captain are to be looked at with full respect, the guards should not do anything to pages, squires, and Knights. if you have any questions or concerns please speak with me as we would like to stay friendly with them during there stay. Thank you, Gideon.

CosmicWhaleShark 2488 Author Share Posted December 14, 2011 The bloody constable himself, your wife and I had to fight two well equipped orcs today. I saw no actual guards there only citizens who took up arms. Yesterday I fought three teutonics initially after they were causing an uproar in town. They asked me to follow them and took me to a cramped store. They attacked me and I fled to the trees where they persisted, Gaius himself was there. After dispatching a soldier an their commander there was one left, I spared him only to have him come back with ten men saying I murdered Gaius. I was chased out of the keep itself! The fact that 10 armed men were able to walk into Galahar unheeded is completely unacceptable. Especially while I saw five completely able men just walking about doing nothing. Braxis I am doing my best to keep the peace in our domain. However when we have iron thieves, people falsely taxing travelers, rouge orcs and teutonics running about it gets to the point where the people owning the title "guard" should actually guard something. Perhaps the people of Oren?

Aradel'Malachai 58 Share Posted December 14, 2011 Do not Let The Oren guard Take over your Town. They are terrible fighters and cannot defend themselves. They Are greedy and all they wish is for items of the men they execute for no reason. They try to enforce laws that are not in place in you're town. If they cant defend themselves how do you expect them to defend your town. Sincerely Anonymous
CosmicWhaleShark 2488 Author Share Posted December 14, 2011 This is exactly what I am attempting to resolve friend. However a sword is a sword and we need more hands swinging them in our favor. I will gladly take a few guards with me than go alone to battle.
Taiga 764 Share Posted December 14, 2011 I, for one, believe the city should be docile, and stay docile. Until sulphur and ash fills the empty streets of the town, it's inevitable fate is predetermined, as with the rest of Aegis. Let the anarchy rule. Those foolish enough can stay. Worry about your own life, not the lives of others.
Anthrowolfgirl 5 Share Posted December 14, 2011 *sigh* Honestly, ever scince I have moved to Galahar no serious damage has come to the city, besides some undead attacks. Although what Baldwin said is true, today two orcs were threating us, and started attacking unexpectidly, it took us a while to bring them down, but thats not the point. As far as Im aware Galahar is where the knights and gaurds resign, and we've been doing all we can.
Althos Silverblade 42 Share Posted December 14, 2011 (( I can't help but feel that all these attacks take place in EST hours when the GMTers are all offline. As the majority of the guard are GMT, it poses a problem. ))
susitsu 871 Share Posted December 14, 2011 Why are there signs all over the town...?
Azaghal 43 Share Posted December 14, 2011 ^What Susitsu said. To make it even more annoying, 'phoenix' is spelt 'pheonix' as written on all of the signs... just though I would let the 'pheonix' know :P
Danny 2232 Share Posted December 14, 2011 (( During GMT times there's loads of Oren Guard running around. They keep the law, as do Cerlos, myself and some other people. Yeah, we may not be soldiers, but Cerlos is the steward, and I'm his guard. It's organized enough at GMT anyway ))
