In A Time Such As This...

My fellow Elves of Malinor,

As we all have realized when we came to our new land of Asulon, we lost a great trait that Aegis possessed. We lost how physically close our nations were to each other. In Aegis, Krugmar was not half a day's travel from our own Capitol, and even the far outlying City of Al'Khazar was only a day or two's travel away. Now it takes nearly that time to travel to our own Capitol from the Cloud Sanctuary.

In days past a single diplomat or two and myself could more than deal with the diplomatic issues of the day. However now that our lands lay so far apart it will once again be needed to bring the Malinor Diplomatic Corps. back to its full capacity as such we will need a Diplomat for the following countries; Kal'Urguan, Krugmar, Alras, Renatus and Salvus. If you would like to apply please fill out the forms attached. Note that if accepted it would be expected for you to spend part of your time in your assigned country. Note as well that if in good standing with Malinor you need not be an elf to apply or be accepted.

Thank you for your time,

Long Live Malinor,

-Prince Lafthi

Nation Applying For (Please pick two): Alras and Krugmar AKA War Nation

Why did you apply for this nation?: I applied for Alras because I am familiar with the nation. When Alras fell, I helped in some combat, helped heal some wounds, and helped guard the refugee camp, and things I could do to help. I applied to Krugmar because after getting captured during the travels through the verge at sea, I watched them take stowaways and force them to do work until blisters and blood. They also treated their own orcs in this way. I know the orcs are tough, strong beings that rough-house around a lot, I want to put some moral boundaries to make the orc nation a nation of steel, combined with its strength and the potential that is hidden, instead of the nation of the violent.

What have been your past experiences with this nation? (Both positive and negative):

Alras:I have had a lot of hospitality from this nation, whether stranger or not. I have reached out to friends throughout this line of hospitality. But still, everything isn't perfect. The nation is a beautiful harmony of good, but there are flaws that are caused by evil. Because of this evil, I have watched a friend and a citizen die. Still, the city is a harmony of affection and hospitality, and nothing will change that.

Krugmar: When I had fallen of the elven ship due to an arrow lodged in my leg shot by a mysterious person, I asked for their help before I drowned to death. I was put in their ship as a stowaway, and they tossed me a rag and ripped the arrow out of my leg. They had given me hospitality, AND saved my life. But still, at the same time, I watched more stowaways come, and the stowaways eventually became like slaves. They rowed, and they rowed, and they rowed. But still, the orcs respected strength. But when a stowaway tried to escape, because he didn't want to row anymore and move to another ship, the orcs shot him. I was horrified. Their strength and their power come from no hesitation I guess, but the monstrosity. The High Prince eventually helped us escape, but the orcs again sailed in smaller boats, hoping to capture more people to row their boat.

Any other applicable Info: I was a traveler for many years roaming the world of aegis and making friends where I went. I settled down as a vanguard, and got promoted as a guardian, but that didn't stop me from traveling. I went to many cities and nations, and I got familiar with their cultures. That made me adapted to the way of the other races, but not completely, because I wasn't born under their care. The point is, I understand different cultures well, and I like to travel, and I also like to debate and discuss.

Nation Applying For (Please pick two): Alras and Kal'Urguan

Why did you apply for this nation?:

Alras: I am currently living in Alras and I am planning to stay there for quite a while. I like the people around this area and I am also working with the Golden Syndicate which are living in Alras short term and hoping to get a charter to live there long term. Due to this I would be here a lot and also able back to Elderin very frequently.

Kal'Urgan: When I first journeyed to Asulon I met 2 dwarves and we worked together to get to the Cloud Temple. I became fairly friendly with them and i felt at home with them. I would like to journey to their home country to learn more about their race and maybe meet my friends again. I also share some of their interests in Mining and Blacksmithing.

What have been your past experiences with this nation? (Both positive and negative): I have had only good experiences with both nations and although I have never been to Kal'Urgan I have met many dwarves in my time in Aegis. I am currently living in Alras and quite a fair few people know me and I think they would trust me.

Any other applicable information: I have always been a keen traveler and as many people will tell you I have had to be told to keep still a fair few times. I want to learn more about both of these nations and I would love to be a diplomat for them. If I can only be a diplomat for one, I would chose Alras. Not that I don't care about the nation I would like but I would happy with any nation as I would like to get to know them all more.

Edit 22/1/12: Changed my one of my preferred nations to Alras

Nation Applying For (Please pick two): Salvus and Renatus

Why did you apply for this nation?: Most Elves have a tendency to be extremely biased towards humans, if not openly, then within their hearts. While many do not feel the need to put these prejudices aside, I most certainly do. There is no reason for us to hate the Humans without regard to who the Human is. And I wish to show this to humans, the side of Elves that does not blindly hate them. I want to show Humans how we can be helpful and kind if they are the same to us.

In addition, I have had poor experiences with these Nations (described below) and I wish to do all I can to keep other Elves from having the experiences and to bring our Nation and theirs together, in order to keep any Elves being harmed for simply being in the borders of the given Human Nation. I want to try and destroy this racism before it can destroy us, which I believe, as an unbiased and good Elf, can do much to accomplish that task.

What have been your past experiences with this nation? (Both positive and negative): My past experiences with Salvus and Renatus, in the last year that we have been on Asulon, have not been as grand as one might hope. Each time I entered one of the Nations, I was spit upon or hollered at if I entered a village or city. No one would help me or sell to me, and I often needed food (for I had not intended on the extreme amount of travel time.)

Indeed, on several occasions, I have been beaten and almost killed by citizens of either Salvus or Renatus, and this is something that should not happen. Though the beatings did not occur in either Nation, it still influenced how I thought of the Nations, but only in a way that made me wish to use diplomacy to mend these issues before the flowers of hate seeded a tree.

One more thing of note concerning the other nations is that I witnessed quite the noble and diplomatic act between a man of Renatus and one of Alras, and I wish to breed this act between Humans and Elves. The man of Renatus, talking of war with the one of Alras, was being respectful and trying to do everything to prevent it. This case, which I overheard, provided my much respect for Renatus, and Salvus by association.

Any other applicable information: I am a good traveler, and would be very comfortable with being abroad for long periods of time. I, as all Elves, can also read and write, and will use these skills to make the most detailed and accurate records of any meetings that would occur. Memory is not reliable. I can also fend for myself if attacked by a group of Skeleton Archers and Zombie Fighters, though I am not good enough with any weapon to fight a sentient being.

Nation Applying For (Please pick two):

I would prefer Kal'Urguan, but I'm also okay with taking Renatus. ((Because of recent changes I now prefer Renatus before Kal'Urguan.))

Why did you apply for this nation?:

For me, Kal'Urguan is the natural choice. I live in a dwarven village in dwarven territory. I know the place like my own glove. I have many dwarven friends around the nation. I have been more times to the dwarven capital then to the elven. This isn't because of me being disloyal, but because of my love to the land.

Renatus, the reason for that choice is because of my many friends who lived in Oren and now in Renatus. That's probably the only good reason for me to apply to Renatus. I have been there one time (maybe two.).

Edit: I now have a small house in Renatus capital and have met a lot of new people. I have met the king and many other with high posts in Renatus.

What have been your past experiences with this nation? (Both positive and negative):

Kal'Urguan:

I almost only have positive experience with the dwarves. Back in Aegis I lived in the forests around Ravenhold. In Ravenhold it is pretty rare to see anyone else who isn't a elf. But the few meetings with dwarves in Aegis was pretty good. They often came with news from the nation. For example, a dwarf told me and my father about the ongoing war with the Alras nation, he wasn't there to get help, he was there to seek a new place to stay.

Since arriving to Asulon I have met very many dwarves, this might be because of where I live. As I already wrote, I live in dwarven territory. On this location most of my positive and my negative experiences with dwarves appeared.

The first days of my arrival to the dwarves I met a numberous of dwarves which had opinions which I though were racist. I soon learned that they wasn't the only dwarves that were rasists. But after we all got to know each other they seemed to accept me more and more. Some long lasting friendships came out off those conversations.

I have not have any contact with any nation representatives more than maybe a saying a few words to each other.

Renatus:

The only experience with this nation at all is my friends and the people I met in Renatus. One of my closes friends is a sergeant in a large military group there called "The Pheonix". I haven't have any negative experiences with the Kingdom of Renatus.

Any other applicable information:

I would love to serve the elves once again. I hope you see the potential in me and that we meet soon, Prince.

Edit: I now live in Renatus which makes it the obvious choice. I have also learned a lot of how Renatus is ruled and by which have high positions in their government. Even though I have met a lot of new people here, I still got many more to meet.

Diplomats should know alot of backstories and lore about the nation they're appointed to. The orcs are now called the War Uzg AKA the War nation, not Krugmar.

People figure things out through RP, how would you know if you have not been there, and you just went there for a Diplomacy Meeting. People figure out more about the nation as they progress as diplomats and that is why there is not a need for having a new one every other day, because there are more experienced ones.

Nation Applying For (Please pick two): Menorcress, and Salvus

Why did you apply for this nation?: I am unsatisfied with the way the Mori situation has been handled, My ideas for peace have been thrown out the window, ignored. I feel I am one of the only few who truly understand that it is the the Mori, who are the problem, But us. We started is, then they fight back, and we blame them? I cannot believe this... My ideas for peace I believe would be widely successful, and I'd they aren't, I'll figure something else out, try and try again is what I say. We must understand them to bring peace, Our methods are not fitting with their culture. The more we continue, the more we are seen as a threat.

Now for Salvus, they are a great farming nation, trade and communication with them would be most beneficial for the Elven people. As of right now, the balance wih humans has been uneasy, mostly with the ones in our city, they and their people do not know our customs and grow rather annoyed when we express anger for their actions. Our food source right now isn't the most powerful, some are fine, others are less then full. A open, free trade with them would bring in many bundles of wheat for our people. Along wih food, they have a well prepared army force. While we get our defense settled in, having a friend near will be good. I do not think the Dwarves are what we need, as of right now they are rather insulting and stubborn, I mean no offense to them. It it's a fact. The humans of Salvus are more level headed and resonible to work with.

What have been your past experiences with this nation? (Both positive and negative): I have only had positive experiences with the Mor'quessir, Because I do not get to talk to them face to face, I have listened to there language and watched there actions. So far I have not angered any, most of the time they are kind listen to what I have to say. I also do not have any issues with the kind people of Salvus, perhaps a few bad apples, but nothing too bad.

Any other applicable information: I actually applied many moons ago, but alas the last spot was filled before I could be reviewed.

Nation Applying For (Please pick two): Krugmar & Hanseti

Why did you apply for this nation?:

(The following is all within RP I learnt IG.)

Krugmar:

I applied for Krugmar, Because I know Fluent Orcish, (Taught by a Orc, with Legit RP.) and Also know of their Kin quite well. Though their methods are brutal, they are a kind which are great with fighting, and are extremely aggressive. I believe, reforming a greater alliances would be necessary. I understand working with orcs could be dangerous, and I know I could handle their kin.

Hanseti:

Hanseti is home to the Black Cross, also known as the Teutonic Order. A group which are powerful, well lead and possibly rival the Orcs.

Last Known Leader I heard of was Gaius Marius. Who I last saw the day he gathered control of Oren for a few short days.

Though I heard Gaius had fallen, I’m sure the next leader is just as great as Him, and I would love to handle the Diplomacy with them. The Snowy environment is no Problem for me.

What have been your past experiences with this nation? (Both positive and negative):

Krugmar:

My few contacts with Krugmar, are extremely rare. Though I know some Orcs very well, and know their respective Culture, I have not come in contact with the “War Nation.” Lately.

I have had good & bad experiences with Orcs, though I have never angered an Orc which is in the government they have, nor in the War Nation. I have had some bad times with Orcs.

I have had several good times though, I often Klomp in Krugmar, and Enjoy alot of times amongst Orcs.

Hanseti:

I have never came in contact with Hanseti, But I know what they are like. A strong Military order, and Organised people. Though I know little of them, I know I can handle them well.

Any other applicable information: I speak Fluent Orcish.

As Tylos finds the Elven capital for the first time, he sees an extremely large noticeboard full of notes. He reads the first note and sees the title, "Malinor Diplomatic Corps.". He remembers that Lona applied for this group and so he looks for her application. He finds it and then reads it. He laughs when he sees "'The Phoenix Rangers'" and he attaches his own note into her's:

"Please accept this application. Not only is she a friend of a guard(I'm not a ranger((BTW, one bracket it not OOC)), her mistake.) but her boyfriend/my cousin was in the Phoenix Rangers a while back and we both have lots of friends in Renatus and we are related to some council members. Having a diplomat with that many connections in Renatus would be great for Malinor and since she has hardly ever been to Renatus yet, that guarantees you that she isn't hated by Renatians. She also has lots of Dwarven friends/connections if you want her to go to Urugan."

((BTW, Lona, it's disloyal not dislojal. I know in a lot of languages j makes the sound y makes in English but I'm just telling you.))
