I'm an IB student, currently finishing up my last year of high school. I'm a Catholic and weekly church goer, I dabble in skateboarding from time to time, and I play the saxophone. I enjoy playing MMO's of all sorts with my friends.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

Probably around 25 hours max but it would sway from time to time just because of school and other commitments.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you.:

To me role-playing is abandoning one's self in order to take up the character that they created in its entirety.

In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are.

Metagaming is drawing upon outside experience or knowledge of the current game in order to further one's self. It would be out of character knowledge rather than what the adopted persona would actually know by his or her self.

Powergaming is the attempt to max out all skills or to gain the most avatar strength. It usually leads to the person being unrealistically overpowered or skilled.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

I'm not exactly sure what to expect yet. I have heard good things from a friend however and assume it is one of the better servers out there to play on.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

I've played with some servers made from friends. Only stopped playing because of griefing and bad connection.

Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Coming from a royal family from the North, Aethasis lived a princely early life with most things handed to him with little work for them. Although he gained a proper education through schooling, he did not learn many useful skills with which he would have been able to carry himself on his own. Upon reaching his teenage years, the control of the throne began to be disputed. The once faithful adviser to the king, Gideon had turned on him and had led the enemies from the east to overtake their kingdom with promise that he would rule as a duke. Before they were able to kill the prince, a guard by the name of Stanley Nepos led Aethasis out of the Castle through dark forgotten passages beneath it. Although the kingdom lay behind them in ruins, Nepos took Aethasis up on his own and taught him the way of the blade and the bow. He soon learned the harsh realities of life and had to find his own food in the wilderness.

After a few years of just trying to survive in the wilderness, the guard was overwhelmed with the many evils of the night and got caught in several creeper explosions. Trembling with fear during the onslaught, Aethasis blocked himself into the ground and waited till the sunlight came. He crawled out to find the remains of his dear friend and gunpowder everywhere. He wept. Despite having to survive on his own, it only made him stronger. He turned his blue eyes to the sunlight which reflected off his golden hair and vowed to make things right in the world. His unfathomable bloodlust urged revenge in him that the earth had yet to see. He set off in his red coat and black clothes to become a paladin and defender of the light.

Your characters ambitions:

To rid the world of evil and regain the crown.

Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do?

Aethasis catches a glimpse of the struggle from out of the trees. Knowing there is little time to act, he draws his bow and takes aim. He sees one of the bandits drawing a dagger to stab the elf and he releases a flurry of arrows at their vicinity. Having not fully mastered the bow yet, none of the arrows hit their target but just about everything else. Aethasis curses under his breath and taunts the bandits who in turn, drop their aggression against the elves and rush to attack. Aethasis rushes from the brush to meet them in combat. Swaying with the rhythm of a dancer he dodges most of their attacks and trades off several blows. He gets tripped and disarmed leaving his sword yards away from him. One of the bandits slashes his coat as he dodges a finishing blow and unleashes his fury. "NOBODY TOUCHES THE COAT!" he bellows, and pulls a dagger tied to his leg beneath his leg, slashing one of the bandits from the knave to the chops. The other flees in terror as his friend suffers a fatal blow to the neck.

Aethasis begins to pursue the other aggressor when he realizes that the elf is still in need of help. He drops his pursuit and tends to the wounds of the elf before continuing on his travels.

Your character walks up to a shop in a quiet market. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer?

He asks for some cloth to repair his coat without any mention of his dark past.

DENIED

Notes for applicant: This wa a very good application, however one thing made me have to deny it. Please don't have as 'epic' a backstory before you join the server - as this hasn't happened in-game, so your character can't fufill his aims. Please change your bio to a more calmer, and less extreme story, then this should be accepted.

Ignore the note about 24 hours at the bottom of this post, you may re-apply after two hours of this denial.

Please note: Whilst you may be angry or irritated at this denial, you need to understand that as a member of the Application Team it is my job to ensure we only have people who made great applications on the server. Where can I get help to fix these errors?

It really depends on what you need – you are not allowed to have anyone else write part of your application for you. As the Application Team we're here to not only accept and deny your applications, but it's our job to give you help for fixing them. We'll help you as much as we can, but we will never write a bit of your application, no matter how much you ask!

The best way to get help, is to contact the Application Team member who denied you, (in this case, myself; Danny). You can contact me either here on the forums, via a PM – or you can also find me on TeamSpeak most of the time, either in the “Application Team” channel or in one of the private channels. I'd also suggest that you do some reading up, depending on why you were denied, as there's some good help out there, already written for anyone who needs it!

The Wiki provides almost every scratch of lore that we have, there's people dedicated to expanding on it, and making it as detailed as possible.

You should also read the various posts that have been made by GM's and Application Team members to help with your applications, and believe me, there are many. The most useful is the “Application Team's Advice” thread.

Can I re-apply?

Of course you can! Often people post as many as 3 applications before they're accepted! Just make sure, that you wait until after 24 hours before you re-apply or your application will be denied. We have the 24 hour wait system to keep the Application Submissions forum tidy, and to ensure that the application team aren't overwhelmed by applicants posting a new application every five minutes.
