The Worker's Council

(This is not official, this is a proposal to Reynard, he is allowed to change the ideas, however.)

Who are the Worker's Council?

The Worker's Council are a group of laborers, normally the leader from each job, that debate unfair laws and taxes that are wrong in the eyes of the working class citizens. We debate will the government peacefully and respectfully. For example, if the taxes on fishermen are too demanding, we will ask for a public debate with Reynard, Kashi, or other officials to discuss the matter in front of the public. We do nit and should not have any sort of governmental power, we are just a group of workers who fight against unfair terms towards workers.

How are members selected?

Council Members are selected through polls of the certain class. For example, if the head lumberjack died, the other lumberjacks would nominate up to 5 lumberjacks and then vote on the one they choose. The winner is named Head Lumberjack, he helps debate against laws applying to his working class, lumberjacks.

How many Council Members are there?

The number of Council Members depends on the number of different jobs. Here is a list of the current jobs in Renatus.

  • Farmer
  • Fishermen
  • Miner
  • Lumberjack
  • Builder
  • Merchant
  • Guard
  • Ranger
  • Army-Land
  • Army-Sea (or Navy)
  • Politician
  • Noble
  • Knight
  • Scribe
  • Blacksmith
  • Hunter
  • Gatherer
  • Engineer
  • Cook

In total, that is 19 Council Members from 19 different jobs. Therefore, with each job being represented, each job is not left out.

OOC: Hopefully, if this is approved by Reynard and actually is helpful, this Council will help solve future problems. Each member will most likely HAVE to have TeamSpeak or at least Skype. Also, the bested will happen in game, so citizens can who are not on TeamSpeak can listen and understand some unfair laws or taxes. Thank you for reading. Remember, this is not official, this is an idea.

What qualifications do you require to be a council member, and What nation/nations do you seek to speak for?

We also have a head for the guards and rangers, It wouldn't make sense to have another one. And what is Army-Land and ArmySea?

(( @domainoft Renatus... Duh?

@Kashi It was just a brainstrom when I made the jobs list, not the official list

@Scipp It would be a reprsenatuve voted on by the rest of the guard to be their delegate, same with ranger, this does not mean they are the Head Guard/Ranger. Also, Army-Land= Foot Soldiers, Archers, etc. Army-Sea= Navy.

((First they'll start making small suggestions and demands. Next, they'll start organising strikes and demanding greater equality within the classes. After that, someone will invent Marxism and then the proletariat shall rise up against the bourgeois in a glorious revolution! They shallcast down the repressive institutions of feudalism and organise the workers into a glorious, unified nation of the soviet! Hoist the red flag, brothers! End the capitalist imperialism of the higherups!! ))

I will bring this up with the other members of the Council and we shall see what can be done, and what improvements we can make on this idea.
